About the role

Risk ORC (Operational Risk & Controls) is an independent team supporting the Arval business and carries out its 2nd line of defence by providing the business with a risk policy, governance, framework, systems and training and then challenges the application. So in this role you will be responsible for the full control, design and implementation of the framework. This role is all about RISK management so you will work with the business to support the monthly and quarterly reporting it carries out, reviewing and analysing patterns and then managing incidents.

In addition you will provide independent assurance to the Arval UK MD, Chief Risk Officer and the Corporate Risk ORC that the Arval UK operational risk framework is appropriate, sufficient and effective in managing the entity’s operational risk.

About you

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to evidence robust experience in a similar 1st or 2nd line of defence role and have extensive knowledge of the 3 lines of defence and enterprise risk & controls frameworks. Additionally, you will need experience of not only doing the work but then report writing for senior stakeholders. Ideally you will also have a detailed knowledge of operational leasing business processes.

Lastly, you will be a credible leader experienced in managing a function and setting a vision, strategy and creating a deliverable plan. This is in addition to having the excellent stakeholder management and resilience required whilst supporting but also challenging the different business areas. Naturally resilient, you will also be highly organised and analytical with an undeterred focus to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely fashion. You will be known for your ability to make decisions and communication skills and so very capable to provide advice and instruction to Director level.
