Job Description Summary

Responsible for identifying, defining and executing strategies for fraud management, collections, and financial claims using digital solutions, technology, data insights, and a test and learn methodology. This leader will be responsible for building our operational risk management capabilities across the entire bank.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develops strategic direction for Fraud Prevention, Collections, and Claims
  • Evaluates, sets a vision, and determine a roadmap for the maturity of risk operations
  • Drafts and implements a measurement system that identifies threats and measures progress
  • Builds, leads, manages, and engages a team of professionals who love what they do as they work in Risk Operations
  • Works with stakeholders around the bank to pick the highest return investments and lead them through Agile implementation
  • Collaborates in our company to model openness to the best ideas, inclusion of everyone with their unique strengths, and an unfailing assumption of positive intent
  • Leads continuous improvement efforts in Fraud, Collections, and Claims
  • Defines and gains senior leadership support for a fraud management strategy and roadmap
Other Job Duties
  • Establishes best practices in Fraud detection, measurement, and prevention, as well as remediation, with intentional trade-offs between experience and trust
  • Innovates with techniques, products, services, data, and test and learn for people, process, and technology
  • Works with Digital design to implement leading edge online and mobile strategies
  • Establishes test and learn discipline with a focus on rapid cycle continuous improvement
  • Drives reduction in losses through proactive delinquency prevention strategies, through collections, and with recoveries
  • Provides business as usual Credit and Debit Card claims service
  • Designs and implements new strategies for prevention of Claims
  • Leads a high energy and engagement team of Fraud prevention professionals
  • Leads a high energy and engagement team of Collections and Recovery professionals
  • Leads a high energy and engagement team of Claims professionals

Required Experience

  • 15 years’ experience managing financial services risk
  • Experience in risk management, fraud, lending or core credit risk management function

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Strong background in risk management specifically in managing fraud and collections
  • Demonstrated skills in managing risks in money movement and lending
  • Experience managing a high performing team and driving results
  • Strategic thought leader with a focus on process innovation
  • Ability to drive results in a fast-paced organization
  • Analytical skillset and a rigorous, data-driven approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to quickly execute with limited information
  • Curious mindset; growth-mindset; ability to quickly pivot, and keen attention to detail
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively
  • Effective communication skills – clear, concise, compelling
  • High energy, a can-do attitude and a demonstrated team-first mentality
  • Advanced degree in statistics, econometrics, operations research, mathematics, data science, engineering, or a related quantitative field of study
  • Strategic thought leadership with a focus on digital innovation
  • Strong analytical skillset and a rigorous, insight-driven approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to act productively in ambiguity
  • Effective communication skills – clear, structured, and articulate
