Group Manager, Operational Risk Projects & Processes

The Group Manager, Operational Risk Projects & Processes is responsible for leading operational efforts for incorporating new or changing Regulations, creating and managing an E2E Change Management process, creating and managing a procedure-writing and training capability in E2E, and formalizing the E2E capability in Audit Preparations and Fulfillment.
1. Lead Operational efforts to incorporate new or changing Regulations or guidance. Examples include:
a. Lead efforts to implement CCPA
b. Operationalize Reg W reporting
c. Lead planning and execution on IBOR
2. Create and manage an E2E Change Management process
a. Draft and roll-out a process that evaluates all changes to practice, policy or procedure
b. Create a periodic forum where proposals for change, as well as final configurations of change, are approved by the business
c. Ensure relevant stakeholder such as Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Group are involved in process
d. Institute lean management principles in the change management in order to greatly reduce effort required
e. Ensure Operations has the capability to effectively roll-out system and process changes whether internally or externally generated
3. Create and Manage a Procedure-writing Capability in E2E
a. Recruit, screen, and select Procedure writers who will specialize in documenting operational workflows
b. Establish procedure writing as a table stakes part of process management, and drive consistent work with procedure-writing standards
c. Integrate Procedure writing with new Change Management process in order to achieve auditable floor work standards that remain accurate through system upgrades
d. Create and manage a periodic review process for Procedures, in order to detect and incorporate changes that were missed
e. Select, configure, launch, and maintain an Agent Help tool that provides a system of reference for Procedures and Changes
4. Create and manage an E2E Training capability
a. Survey existing business processes and determine which areas have the greatest need for improvement in standard work
b. Create a departmental capability to curate procedures into an objective-based set of learning modules
c. Accelerate process improvement by using those standard modules
d. Reduce variability in customer outcomes through upskilling floor performers to improve technical performance
e. Work with management to determine a curated agenda of soft-skill trainings
5. Formalize and improve the E2E Capability in Audit Preparation and Fulfillment
a. Establish and maintain the annual calendar of Regulator, IG, and CIT visits and inspections
b. Lead preparation efforts for these risk-related engagements through assessment and gathering of materials
c. Serve as a one-stop shop for providing materials, with system of record version control
d. Capture action items during visits, and ensure the work is delivered to stakeholders on time and at expectation
15 years minimum prior relevant experience
Strong leadership skills, broad management experience, and exceptional business knowledge to lead business teams across multiple functional areas
Technical and operational capability to define and/or oversee program design in broad area of responsibility.
Typically has mastery level knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with broad understanding of other areas within the job function.
Extensive business and industry expertise and provides organizational thought leadership.
Possesses extensive business and industry experience and provides organizational thought leadership
