Description of the assignment

 

As a Graduate Trainee, you will deepen your knowledge regarding the business line you are working in and the bank in general to gain experience and seniority to be able to participate to the commercial objectives of the relevant business line. You will be part of the team and become responsible for various tasks to contribute to the team objectives.

Graduate assisting Fixed Income Sales Team within daily business with Swiss clients. Cash Bond, Single CDS and Index activity on secondary market plus new issuance activity in various currencies USD, EUR, GBP, CHF. In contact with various syndicate desks and secondary traders worldwide Europe, Asia, USA. Activity in various asset classes within bond universe.
Government Bonds, Supra Sovereign Agencies, Covered Bonds, Investment Grade Rating to Emerging Market and High Yield and Subordinated Financials and Corporates.

Main activities


• Daily Bid Offer List in various format excel and runs format Bloomberg for clients
• Client Date Base updates
• Confirmation of trades to clients
• New issue order updates

Special tasks
• Backoffice and Middleoffice tasks for confirmation and settlement. In contact with Lisbon
• Coordination for client roadshows with events team
• Assistance for preparation research and trade ideas for cliens on sales side

Contacts (Internal/External)
• Worldwide sales teams and trading teams plus syndication
• In Switzerland with other business units Equity Derivative, Forex
• Backoffice / Middle office Lisbon
• Limited client contact (assistance to sales)


Searched profile


• Recently graduated from University in Banking/Economics/Finance
• Strong interest in the area of Finance, Capital Markets and Syndicate
• Previous work experience (internship) across asset classes including equities, fixed income, credit, commodities as well as alternative investments and/or consulting preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, fluency in German (understanding Swiss-German) and English (our primary working language), French is an advantage
• Self-motivation combined with a strong team spirit
• Ability to set priorities, be flexible, well organized and enjoy working in a dynamic and international environment
