Global Markets – Equity Derivatives – Non-Linear Trading Assistant

Structured Equity and Flow & Financing offer a full range of innovative equity, index and fund-linked products. In addition, they offer a comprehensive range of research, sales, trading and execution services on equities and their derivatives. Commodity Derivatives offers a full range of price risk management solutions. Underlyings include energy, metals and soft commodities.
Within the Structured Equity and Flow & Financing department, the European Non-Linear Trading teams manage the risks onboarded by the bank through the market making of a variety of products. Those “onshore” teams are currently based in London and Paris and benefit from the support of Lisbon trader assistants. We are looking for hungry graduates with a knack for quantitative subjects, fast paced decision making as well as process improvement to join our growing team and help us expand our franchise and participate in the success of the business.
ROLE AND RESPONSILITIES
Create high value reporting for the onshore traders and help them visualize their risks better
Engage in project management to improve the quality of our reporting using tools such as Tableau and Python/VBA automation
Keep a pulse of the market and show proactiveness in suggesting hedging opportunities to traders following market moves
Produce business reports for the desk you are covering allowing us to better assess profitability
Book trades with clients and brokers alike
Make sure our books always reflect our commitments to the clients and actual risk exposure
Check inflows/outflows for consistency and reduce operational risk by dealing swiftly with any settlement/payment issues
Engage in pricing for reporting purposes, parameter implicitation (broker quotes for instance) and/or internal trades
Get proficient in the pricing mechanisms, shifts and other margins. Be the reference person in the Lisbon Front Office on pricing requests/issues
Lead projects to streamline workflows, automate tasks and reduce risk through industrialization via programming, project management with the IT and overall improvement of our processes
Increase competency in programming and knowledge of the chain in order to be able to have an holistic view of improvement opportunities
Business/Engineering school graduate
Python and/or VBA proficiency (with relevant experiences – either professional, academic or personal)
Fluent in English, French a plus
Proven interest in the capital markets
Fast learner and hard worker
Independent and proactive
