Business Management Controller

MISSION AND OBJECTIVES

The candidate filling this position will be responsible for the data integrity, leading the execution of controls and assisting with the Business Management for Global Banking and Coverage in Americas. The candidate will work closely with Global Banking and Coverage Business Management, Finance and regulatory team within CIB. The candidate will balance working on the below topics within his/her specific responsibility with assistance as needed on other ad hoc requests.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate filling this position will be responsible for the data integrity, leading the execution of controls and assisting with the Business Management for Global Banking and Coverage in Americas. The candidate will work closely with Global Banking and Coverage Business Management, Finance and regulatory team within CIB. The candidate will balance working on the below topics within his/her specific responsibility with assistance as needed on other ad hoc requests.


The main topics covered by the Associate - 


  • Headcount for Global Banking and Coverage Platform Americas

  • Expense Tracking & Reporting

  • Premises



  • Headcount for Corporate Banking and Coverage Platform Americas

  • Headcount management on monthly basis and tracking against budget incl. approvals for Americas (Executive summary, Org. Chart, Reconciliation to HR & Finance data, New approval of positions, Distribution lists management) 

  • Annual headcount budget including BAU and initiative, in addition to quarterly forecasting.

  • Assist with preparation of projections and tracking of the platform initiatives developed under the Bank’s growth plan (CIB of Tomorrow) and all related requests.

  • All topics related to HR for GBA.

  • Participate in GBA strategic initiatives and projects (ad hoc and transversal or CIB wide).



  • Expense Tracking & Reporting

  • Annual Expense budget process, lead meetings with the unit heads, answer questions and liaise with the Finance team.

  • Review expenses for the  Global Banking and Coverage Platform units for defined categories on monthly basis and track them against the Budget (PR and subscriptions tracking, Market data, Mobile review and follow up)

  • Prepare monthly Expense tracking and report back to Management.

  • Allocated Expenses (Follow up and control of the allocation keys).

  • Looking for efficiencies within the Global Banking and Coverage platform.

  • Insure the Coverage, FIC, Portfolio Mgmt. and VPG Business management (ad-hoc requests).


  • Premises

  • Strategize with Premises on long-term space planning for GBA business lines, coordinate internal moves, maintain online space planning tool.


TRAINING AND OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Finance or Accounting) required; Master’s degree or MBA in Finance or related field preferred. 
  • 5-7 years related experience required. Banking industry experience a plus

  • Superior Microsoft Excel skills are mandatory; proficiency in the writing and use of macros a plus; Comfortable with basic office tools (MS Outlook, MS Word)
  • Technical skills – Tableau, Alteryx, VBA are a plus
