Asset Finance and Securitisation (AFS) includes, among other businesses, Asset Backed Securities (ABS) and Credit Structuring (including Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) & Portfolio Financing).

Credit Structuring is seeking to hire an analyst to support its fast-growing business in the Americas.


The Analyst will be associated with the Credit Analytics function within Credit Structuring.

The primary job of the analyst would be to review and monitor the risk-taking in the underlying loan portfolios being financed. The position will provide an opportunity to gain:

  • Transaction experience across a large variety of Capital Market structured products (collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), senior portfolio finance, loan TRS, etc.), including involvement in live trades

  • client interactions as part of the due diligence calls with the Asset Managers’ Portfolio Management teams, to discuss credit views on the portfolio names

  • interaction opportunities across multiple Global Market desks as the analyst will work closely with the various stakeholders across the Leveraged Loan ecosystem within Global Markets – CLO Origination & Structuring, Structured Credit Trading, Loan Research, Loan Trading and Sales, Loan Syndicate, CLO research, RISK teams

  • Strong career potential through the development of a fundamental credit skillset applied to a

  • Structured product setting. 


  • In support of the CLO warehousing, Portfolio Financing and Loan TRS activity, process and review each name coming in vehicles:

  • Review company financials and relevant information, listen to earnings conference calls, and update written loan research reports for the various leveraged credits

  • Conduct in-depth fundamental industry and company analysis and participate in the approval process for the loan purchase

  • Participate in diligence calls for middle market warehouses and other vehicles - diligence calls on loan names are done with managers to analyse the risks of each transaction coming in the vehicles

  • Evaluate legal documents including credit agreements, bankruptcy filings, guarantee and security agreements, intercreditor agreements and indentures.

  • Ensure the regular risk monitoring and maintenance of the portfolio of transactions, including annual reviews, handing of loan events, completion of rating/GRR forms and the participation to the quarterly rating/GRR/capital review, risk dashboards on the performances of the portfolio.

  • Speak with Loan Trading and Loan Syndicate on relevant credit situations. Research credit/deal information on an as needed basis

  • Assist in the writing of internal Loan Market Reports. Gauge other relevant markets such as the high yield bond market for relevant transactions

  • Develop network of internal contacts across CLO Origination & Structuring, Structured Credit Trading, Loan Research, Loan Trading and Sales, Loan Syndicate, CLO research, RISK teams, in order to leverage and cross fertilize the market and risk intelligence across all internal stakeholders of the Leveraged Loan/CLO segments

  • Support the team’s administrative duties, transversal projects & ad hoc management requests.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree with coursework in accounting and corporate finance

  • Fluent in English

  • Proficient with MS Excel

Additional qualifications (preferred)

  • MBA / Masters in Finance

  • Financial modelling experience

  • Experience with analysing sub-investment grade credit

Other Requirements

  • Intrinsic motivation to build expertise in corporate finance – with a focus on leveraged finance

  • Ability to manage the rigor and complexity of a remote working relationship, including

  • Managing expectations with regards to availability and delivery

  • responding quickly under pressure
