Job Description Summary

This role will be responsible for leading, identifying, developing (i.e., writing, editing, and production) and scheduling the distribution of executive content across internal and external channels for the CEO and well as creation of processes for all activities and requests. While the role will initially focus on CEO Communications, when appropriate, the role may also supporting Enterprise-wide EMC/ELT communications.  

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications, the role will support program management, planning, in-depth messaging, comprehensive briefing packages, support speeches and written content for the CEO, as well as developing a voice within the context of the banks overall brand, mission, values and strategic priorities. 

The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a highly-visible, high-performing, fast-paced, confidential, high-pressure environment and will have integrity and a commitment to quality along with superb written and editorial skills. 


  • First and foremost, this is a writing role with ability to write a variety of content for executives

  • Manage high-profile executive and critical communications and materials including: announcements, video scripts, speeches, talking points, and thought leadership.

  • Practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics and collaborating with others for completion.

  • Create full briefing materials for communications-focused trips and events

  • Innovate and collaborate with groups in Marketing & Communications including events, social media/PR, sponsorships, brand/advertising, and content strategy on strategic and creative projects

  • Work in partnership with the CEO’s chief of staff, content strategist, and executive assistant to manage the CEO’s calendar related to internal/external speaking opportunities

  • Work with other members of the Executive Management Committee and staff when appropriate

  • Will be responsible for identifying relevant content ideas and opportunities based on trends and business integration; create outstanding content in cost-effective ways and distribute that content at optimal times to maximize engagement.


  • Experience with managing many requests of leadership time and writing needs, working diplomatically to respond

  • Has an understanding of the impact and importance of this work on other areas of the organization.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in communications with a significant portion dedicated to executive counsel, speech writing, public relations, and/or support.

  • Experience within Financial Services preferred.

  • Strong written communication skills and ability to distill and convey information in a compelling manner; ability to adopt leader voice.

  • Experience working with C-level executives and across a matrixed organization; affective at collaborating with internal and external stakeholders including heavy engagement with Chief of Staff, Communications, Marketing, Sponsorship, Advertising, Earned Media and agencies where applicable.

  • Flexibility to manage long-range plans and rapid turnaround requests, as well as strategic work to detailed logistics

  • Detail-oriented organizational and process management skills to manage a wide range of incoming requests and responsibilities.

  • Emotional intelligence and ability to establish strong and trusting relationships.

  • Strong business acumen; including experience in financial services.
