Role Description and Purpose
We have an excellent career opportunity for an ESG Analyst in our Boston office. The ESG Analyst will focus on analyzing the ESG performance of companies in the Technology and Communication Services & Health Care sectors, as well as engaging with companies in these sectors. Their role will also support US based investment teams (mostly thematic and EM equity) in implementing BNPPAM’s Global Sustainable Policy including ESG integration, responsible business conduct, stewardship and key forward looking targets, focused on Energy transition, Environmental sustainability and Equality (the “3Es”).
The successful candidate will work within the Sustainability Centre (members located in Paris, NY and Hong Kong), which undertakes innovative research and policy development, guides BNPP AM’s investment stewardship and industry engagement activities, and supports investment teams in accessing, integrating and reporting on ESG factors across the whole organization. ESG Sector Analyst Technology and Communication Services & Health Care: Undertake research and scoring of companies to provide insights into company specific ESG risks and opportunities, address forward looking view with a focus on Energy Transition, Environmental Sustainability and Equality (‘3Es”), identification of related points to address via engagement, performance of annual sector reviews, and white papers on the ESG issues within these 2 sectors.
Scoring of green and social bonds issued by companies in these sectors.
Thematic: Identification of the issuers that promote solutions to environmental and social issues for thematic funds, including linking these contributions to the SDGs.
Macro: Exploring the intersection between issues relating to the “3Es” in the US political, investment and economic environment.
Contribute to product development within US based Investment teams.
Ensure coordination between the Sustainability Centre and a range of internal stakeholders (investment teams, marketing, client relations, etc.).
Liaise with public, academic and independent organizations and think tanks to contribute to new norms of KPI within the sector (access to medicine, etc); Active participation in related industry initiatives.
Support ESG analysis across a range of sectors, for US small cap companies and EM equity (excluding Asia) in conjunction with Paris based team.
Stewardship: Provide sector and company analysis to support engagement with companies in Technology and Communication Services & Health Care. Participate in some engagements alongside PMs and US Head of Stewardship.
Contribute to voting policy content for Technology and Communication Services & Health Care.
Represent the Sustainability Centre in client meetings, due diligence processes and contribute to marketing and business development materials reflecting the firm’s approach.

Role Requirements: Qualifications & Experience
Approximately 10 years’ experience in investment analysis with a minimum of 3 years on sustainability.
Relevant financial and academic background.
Strong knowledge and interest in the Technology and Communication Services and / or Health Care sectors.
Proven ability to work effectively both individually and as part of an international team and with multiple stakeholders
