Analytics Consulting (AC), a team within BNP Paribas mandated to provide Business Intelligence and Artificial intelligence solutions within CIB, is looking for a Data Science Project Manager to lead the implementation of Data-centric projects across CIB.
Analytics Consulting Lisbon is part of the Change Management department of BNP Paribas CIB in Portugal. The team aims at supporting BNPP business and operations by identifying opportunities, developing solutions that require analytics over large sets of data or artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques and finally integrating said solutions in the business to materialize quality improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
The AC team is constituted by four communities: Data and Analytics – structured data and consulting projects; Data Platform – data services available to everyone; Application Delivery – scalable and reliable applications; and Artificial Intelligence – unstructured data projects.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Science Project Managers are expected to facilitate and ensure the success of Data Science projects while striving for the continuous improvement of the project management methodologies and associated tools and techniques as well as the incorporation of good practices specific to data usage and governance in the project management framework.
As Project Manager, you will advise or manage end-to-end projects ensuring that the key project outcomes are delivered:
Propose meaningful project structure and governance, and manage key stakeholders
Provide method and expertise to frame and execute the project on time, on quality and on budget
Lead the project team on a daily basis (tasks allocation, priorisation, etc.) to ensure successful delivery
Bring top-down perspective and escalate any transversal issues
Master Degree with either a technical major, such as engineering, computer science or related fields or Business School.
5+ years experience in programme/project management is required preferably in IT and specifically in Business Intelligence, Data engineering or Data Science domains
Previous experience in financial Services and/or strategy and management consulting would be appreciated
Mastery of project management methodologies and tools
Exposure to development of projects on Big Data, Machine Learning, Business Intelligence, Statistical Analysis or similar
Exposure to Artificial Intelligence techniques and paradigms
Able to take on the Facilitator role, mobilising project contributors with ease
Energetic, proactive, determined, drives change, positive, goal-focused and consistent
Seek to achieve the objectives set within the defined timeframe, by acting with tenacity and by balancing costs and profits
Create an open and supportive atmosphere, encouraging others to express themselves
Capable of delivering impactful presentations to the internal clients
Proven emotional and situational intelligence to influence positively clients towards change
Provide honest and independent advice
Act with discretion, privacy, respecting confidentiality
French and Portuguese are a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong written and verbal communication
Highly organised and able to multi-task
Ability to work in a changing environment / Adaptability
