Position Purpose

The team governs and maintains the client referential data for the Corporate and Institution Banking (CIB) business. The core activities of the team are to:

•    Ensuring the static data of the clients are accurate and updated in a timely manner throughout the chain of information systems (including creation, amendment and closure of client accounts)
•    Act as the control tower to reconcile data among multiple information systems in co-ordination with multiple regional and global teams and ensuring that breaks are resolved in a timely manner
•    Continuously apply and review the standard operating procedures to propose areas of improvement in the data quality, controls and procedures


Direct Responsibilities

•    Ensure the client referential data are entered in the information system by adhering strictly to the existing operating procedures
•    Act as the control tower to analyze reconciliation breaks and co-ordinate with various teams to ensure that the breaks are resolved in a timely manner
•    Where system enhancements are required to improve the quality of the data in the information flow among multiple systems, submit requests to the IT development team and follow-up progress until delivery of enhancements
•    Support the business in day to day enquiries by providing expert advice and quality data on the client referential perimeter
•    Support the extension of the team in smaller sites in the region by providing clear procedures on the maintenance of client referential data to achieve high data quality
•    Ensure the team’s procedures and controls are consistently adhered to within the team via periodic review
•    Participate in and lead regional and global projects/initiatives and ensuring that the local requirements are taken into account
•    Escalate to the team’s manager whenever appropriate to seek for advice and solutions

Contributing Responsibilities

•    Continuously propose areas of improvement in the data quality and oversee their implementation in all the regional sites
•    Assist the regional sites to provide guidance on processes and controls on data quality management
•    Ensure open communication among all the sites by enabling frequent bilateral flow of information
Technical & Behavioral Competencies

•    Bachelors level degree or above
•    Sound understanding of Client Referential data in relation to corporate and institutional clients
•    Expert in management of client data quality and designing controls
•    Strong skills in data analysis and reconciliation
•    Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
•    Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
•    Strong communication to different levels in the organization
•    Ability to work under tight deadline to produce accurate and quality work is required
•    5 years or more of relevant working experience
•    Fluent in English (spoken and written) is a must. Cantonese is highly preferred.
•    Excellent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Candidates with good potential but less than 5 years relevant work experience may also be considered
