Responsibilities:

  • Quantifying and qualifying counterparty and credit risks of a portfolio of clients & prospects, in order to enable decision makers to commit the Bank in acceptable deals/relationships.
  • Completing Credit Proposals compliant with CIB and CMS guidelines and quality standards and the Bank internal policies.
  • Ensuring the follow up of client exposure and monitoring global credit risks the Bank undertakes on these clients.
  • Ensuring, jointly with the Originator/Relationship Manager, the timely production of the file to be decided in Credit Committee and participate to the optimization of the credit process flow.
  • Acting as liaison amongst the different participants of the Credit Process.
  • Planning the presentation of a Credit Proposal well ahead of Credit Committees.
  • Alerting management on areas of improvement and participating to solutions building.
  • Ensuring, jointly with the Originator/Relationship Manager, the timely completion of watch-list and doubtful debt reports (monthly/quarterly).
  • Preparing ad-hoc industry analysis or other credit and risk-related memoranda required by the Head of Region/Regional Credit Manager.
  • Assist in the mentoring of Credit Analysts, Interns, and VIEs
  • Preparation of Credit Reports for local regulatory authorities in coordination with the Head of Credit as well as assist in any audit process if required.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Business Administration and Accounting or similar level of education with an Anglo-American curriculum.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in credit analysis in a corporate banking environment.
  • Knowledge of the local market, of corporate and institutional clients that are the typical target of large international banks such as BNP Paribas
  • Experience in projections and financial modelling.
  • Fluency in Spanish and proficiency in English is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in banking in the corporate sector and within a large financial institution is a plus
  • Some experience in risk; preferably, credit or market risk will be a plus. Knowledge of operational risk frameworks will also be an advantage.
