Corporate Communications Manager, AU & NZ

Position Purpose 
We are a leading international financial institution headquartered in Europe, with a strong focus on corporate and institutional banking in Asia Pacific and a diverse portfolio of clients. We are seeking an experienced corporate communications practitioner to capitalise on our strong growth story by developing an integrated communications strategy across traditional media, owned content and social media as well as internal platforms to our employees.
 
Key Responsibilities 
EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS:
  • Create and execute an integrated, proactive media relations strategy across AU & NZ
  • Pitch innovative, news-worthy information to journalists to enhance the reputation of the organisation
  • Develop and enhance a network base of key AU & NZ mainstream and trade media contacts and act as the main point of contact for all media-related enquiries
  • Manage the media list / database for the AU & NZ territory
  • Be on top of media monitoring across key AU & NZ mainstream and trade media and provide daily summaries to senior management
  • Deliver solid issues and crisis management communications, as and when required, particularly as we continue to navigate Covid-19
  • Write and contribute to a range of communications collateral (for broad external audiences beyond media) including social media, thought leadership for content platforms, media releases, key messages, executive speeches and client communication
  • Manage updates of the external website relevant to AU & NZ
  • Support the delivery of external events as part of our philanthropic sponsorships
  • Collaborate closely with the regional corporate communications team based in Hong Kong to coordinate external and internal communications as required
INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS:
  • Design proactive and innovative communications strategies for employee engagement around key campaigns, calendar events, milestones etc
  • Maintain content calendar and content creation with a multi-communications channel approach (intranet, internal newsletter, video)
  • Lead the development of Head of Territory communication as well as issues related internal communication
  • Manage end-to-end the development of the weekly internal all employee email newsletter
  • Ensure AU & NZ news is profiled accordingly in the related APAC communications channels
  • Manage and maintain the Intranet to ensure information is accessible and useful to employees
  • Support the delivery of internal events such as Town Halls and other employee events
  • Engage and work with a variety of stakeholders across all areas of the business

Specific Qualifications and Experience Required 
  • Between 5-10 years experience in a Communications or Media role, ideally within a financial services organisation preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
  • Understanding of corporate and institutional banking landscape in AU & NZ is preferred
  • Knowledge of the AU/NZ media landscape, preferably with established media relationships in place
  • Experience managing stakeholders across a matrix organisation
  • The ability to synthesise information and hone in on the key points
  • Ability to perform under pressure
  • Strong project management skills
  • Self-directed and highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • A warm personality with a team-oriented approach
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel
