Job Description Summary



Responsible for taking a lead role in ensuring that the assigned business unit policies, procedures and practices align with BoW 2nd line of defense Op Risks and Compliance requirements, with a focus on community lending.

Essential Job Functions

  • Represent Risk related to all aspects of lending to underserved communities.
  • Take the lead in working with key functional areas to review, approve and make recommendations on expanding Risk, as appropriate, related to lending to underserved communities.
  • Monitor product and program usage to determine opportunities for changes in risk parameters or underwriting training.
  • Proactively report key risk data elements to Lines of Business.
  • Work with the assigned Business Group affected by changing laws, regulations or policies to ensure that appropriate changes are implemented as it relates to community lending.
  • Support the assigned Business Group to respond to Regulatory / Audit inquiries and coordinate evidence gathering.
  • Contribute to any Compliance, Internal Control and Operational Risk statement/reporting.

Required Experience

  • Requires deep knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • Typically viewed as a specialist within discipline.
  • May have broad knowledge of project management.
  • Requires 7 years minimum prior relevant experience.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Business Administration or related field

Skills

  • To be the main point of contact and interface with Credit Policy and Credit Risk related to community lending.
  • Work with external housing agencies, including GSEs related to community lending risk topics.
  • Underwriting or other direct experience with community lending product and programs—Government lending, down payment assistance, deed restrictions, mortgage credit certificates and housing finance agency programs.  California based programs like CalHFA and WISH a plus.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
