Within the Compliance Hub in Lisbon, the Screening Team’s objectives are to ensure that new and existing clients and their representatives/authorized agents are compliant with the BNP Paribas Sanction Policy. The team is located in Lisbon and work is coordinated with local oversight to ensure adherence to all relevant local laws and regulations. The main goal of the team is to contribute to protect BNPP against reputational risk, Anti-Money Laundering risk AML/CFT and fraud risk. The team must work closely with the Business and Coverage to understand the clients and provide a service that clients value, while ensuring that they are in line with Compliance standards for Regulator requirements.

 

Within the Compliance Hub in Lisbon, the Client Screening team is responsible for performing sanction and negative news screenings on clients and their representatives/authorized agents, at the client onboarding as well as on a regular basis, to ensure the clients and their representatives/authorized agents are not under sanction and are not incorporated or living in a sanction country.

 

Please note that by the end of the second quarter of 2019, the team will be moved from Compliance responsibility and will integrate the CIB ITO Client Management Operations organization in Lisbon.

 

Operating as a Hub, the role and responsibilities remain the same, though the team will be under new management.

      

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Client Screening: Sanctions

    • To review the client database against the sanctions lists and rationale of the decision to be maintained
    • Ensure the “4 eyes” process is maintained at all times regardless of alert
    • To cascade any “real” sanctions alerts to the appropriate teams
  • Client Screening: PEP

    • To review/decide/escalate as appropriate PEP and sanctions referrals alerted on the BNPP
    • Customer database
    • Ensure relevant hits are escalated
    • Maintain highly accurate records and ensure Management Information produced is of the highest Standard

  • Academic Background in Business
  • Knowledge in different types of trading entities
  • Ms office Office
  • Fluent in English (both oral and written communication)
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
