Chief Technology Officer

BNPP are seeking an experienced CTO for a new China securities subsidiary. The CTO will make executive technology decisions on behalf of the company, outline the company’s technological vision, in alignment with the company’s business goals, implement relevant technology strategies, and manage technological resources and the technology budget. You should be a strategic thinker, familiar with current technological trends, an effective communicator, and have a successful track record in information technology management.

The CTO will report directly to the COO, with a functional reporting line to BNPP’s regional CIB CIO, and act as a technology expert, making decision that will impact the current and future operations of the company. 
Direct Responsibilities
  • Setting a vision for how technology will be used in the company.
  • Developing and communicating the company’s strategy for using technological resources.

  • Designing, maintaining and ensuring compliance with functional, application and technical architectures.

  • Designing, implementing and monitoring technology standards, processes, controls and procedures.

  • Managing technology budgets, plans, programs and projects.

  • Evaluating, selecting and implementing new technologies, systems and infrastructure.

  • Ensuring that technological resources meet the company’s short and long term needs.

  • Ensuring that technological resources are used efficiently, profitably and securely.

  • Ensuring stability, security and continuity of systems and infrastructure.

  • Maintaining current knowledge of the technology landscape and relevant developments.

  • Acting as a mentor to team members.

  • Taking the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity 


Contributing Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.

  • Implementing effective quality assurance, data protection and IT security in line with market standards.

  • Maintaining effective relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, vendors and other stakeholders.

  • Managing selection, on-boarding and on-going development of technology staff.




Technical

  • More than 10 years IT work experience, of which no less than 5 years’ experience in the Securities of Fund Management industry, or More than 8 years’ experience in securities regulatory bodies.
  • Proven experience in a CTO or similar leadership role.

  • Demonstrable technological skill set and experience.

  • Relevant securities industry knowledge and experience.

  • Excellent complex program and project management skills.
