Position Summary

Responsible for supporting the capital planning process and the associated capital stress testing production with a focus on facilitating the CCAR/DFAST Pre-Provision Net Revenue (PPNR) forecasting process as well as supporting the aggregation process for the broader review of balance sheet, income statement, risk weighted assets, and regulatory capital. In addition to profitability analysis, new reporting needs to be developed to regularly update senior management on the views and how they change by various factors.

Essential Job Functions

Primarily responsible for Business Intelligence development activities, automation and database maintenance processes supporting PPNR and Capital Management forecasting process.
  • Work closely with business partners to understand key characteristics and requirements for each product and client segments.
  • Design and develop data visualizations, complex reports and dashboards as required to support user stories.
  • Develop algorithms for capturing data changes, to slice and dice the required datasets and to replace manual efforts to enable data discovery in the growing web of enterprise data.
  • Take responsibility of CCAR production Hyperion Essbase, including Data flow processes, Business Rules calculations and data accuracy. Understand the concepts of multi-dimensional databases, hypercube and data warehouses.
  • Design data and analytics solutions to deliver meaningful product insights by developing reports/dashboards on a regular basis using Tableau by blending data from different sources like Essbase, Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Identify analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets using standard statistical tools and data visualization techniques. Implement row-level security for embedded reporting.
  • Strategies to improve reporting techniques through automation and the creation of dashboards using Batch scripting and command line utilities.
  • Develop and automate decks for CCAR/DFAST PPNR forecasts to assist production runs through scripting techniques in line with other tools. Design visualizations of forecast results to facilitate and streamline forecast review/approval process using Tableau, OBIEE and other tools in Hyperion environment.
  • Work with Financial Technology partners and the Planning team to develop system solution to handle roll forwards and data transfer for key stake holders during stress testing process.
  • Migrate current processes in Hyperion environment to production server to automate the generation of dashboards and reports. Administer Tableau server in multiple environments, as needed.
  • Perform administrator tasks to develop standards for hosting Business Intelligence services/applications. Define, execute and interpret complex/nested SQL queries.
  • Build ETL processes to perform huge data loads from OLAP cubes to My SQL Server and Oracle Essbase for the end users.
  • Work with Essbase cube and Hyperion applications as data sources and perform quality control to ensure data integrity.
  • Work on allocations, mappings and hierarchy changes in Oracle Essbase cubes.
  • Perform ad-hoc data pulls from Oracle and My SQL from multiple source tables using complex SQL queries and PL/SQL stored procedures. Develop MDX queries for large data extracts from Essbase.
  • Document current processes and enhancements; perform control and governance checks.
  • Explain behavior patterns observed in forecast and articulate relationships between forecast and underlying business strategy and economic drivers.
  • Performs ad-hoc analysis as needed to support business and functional priorities.
  • Articulate requirements and extract data from various databases as required.
  • Build lasting partnerships within the Bank that encourage open communication and knowledge sharing.

Required Experience
  • Qualifications

    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a directly related field.
    • Minimum 5 years prior relevant experience.
    • Requires advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through education combined with experience.
    • High proficiency in Tableau and other BI Analytics tools like OBIEE and Power BI; knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, BATCH, Java, JavaScript, Python and other programming languages.
    • Knowledge and working experience of OLAP, SAS, Data Marts, MS Access, Business Objects, APEX, Hyperion, Essbase, Smart view and Multi-dimensional cubes.
    • Additional preferred skills - Big Data, Hadoop, NoSQL and other Big Data technologies.
    • Working knowledge of latest versions of Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server version 10.0 and above preferred.
    • Strong communications and change management skills.
    • Able to interact with various business and support partners.
    • Time Management and organizational leadership skills.
