Business Overview:

Supervisory Relations is one of three connected teams within the Regulatory Strategy & Policy function for BNPP’s Intermediate Holding Company (“IHC”) and Wholesale operations in the U.S.  Supervisory Relations acts as a liaison with the bank’s U.S. regulators to promote effective relationships and to ensure a considered and consistent approach to regulatory interactions.  Supervisory Relations coordinates regulatory engagements, oversees regulatory exams and reviews, and supports management in identifying and responding to key themes in supervisory activities.  The Supervisory Relations team works closely with other teams within Regulatory Strategy & Policy, and with executive management, business lines, and control functions (including Compliance, Finance, Risk and Legal).

The expected starting salary range for this position in New York is between $95,000 to $120,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.

BNPP seeks an Assistant Vice President to join the Supervisory Relations team in supporting and managing regulatory interactions with BNPP’s U.S. prudential and capital markets regulators for IHC and wholesale operations.  Key responsibilities of the Regulatory Relations role include:

  • Serve as regulatory liaison coordinating interactions with BNPP’s U.S. prudential and capital market regulators.
  • Advise regional and business management on the approach to regulatory engagement and guidance on presentations and materials.
  • Coordinate meetings between BNPP subject matter experts and regulators including preparing management, recording key issues and outcomes, and ensuring regulatory expectations are addressed promptly.
  • Oversee and coordinate regulatory examinations and inquiries, which includes tracking deliverables, identifying action items, and ensuring timely and complete submissions.
  • Promote meaningful communications with regulators on supervisory expectations.  Escalate to management and relevant business units on potential issues to ensure prompt attention and resolution.
  • Work closely with relevant parties within the firm to respond to regulatory findings/close-out letters. Partner with key stakeholders with a view to improving future engagements.
  • Synthesize regulatory feedback and provide ongoing analysis to management of supervisory issues related to coverage areas.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • 3 – 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills; proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with financial markets. Knowledge of operational risk management and/or information technology topics is highly desirable.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with members of the management team and other colleagues across the bank.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with regulators or regulatory requirements, preferably in a bank or financial services setting.
