Position Purpose

§  UK derivatives support team is a department in BNP Paribas GSO that will provide back office and middle office services to Asset managers and Institutional clients. Services provided UK derivatives team will be trade capture, costing and settlement, margin settlements, reconciliation and investigations.

§  The AVP will be a member of UK derivatives team, who will be manage processing derivative trades, margin management and resolving trade-related exceptions. Any issues or escalations should be managed timely with utmost care

§  The AVP will be managing the daily operations/ workflow within the business group and helps the Manager in achieving the process deliverables. Solid technical understanding of the business is expected, including strong knowledge of Hiport/Trades & Intellimatch system.

§  He/she should be able to articulate himself well and communicate well across all levels in the organization

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

§  Develop and implement strategic agenda.

§  Develop and implement process solutions to improve operational efficiency.

§  Supports the head of department to develop the strategic plan and manages his / her unit expenses

§  Conducts Performance Management and career development processes, and staffing and disciplinary actions.

§  Works with Department head to finalize his / her processes budget and manage expenses for the team

§  Provide leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment which encourages employee participation, team work and communication

§  Works with Spoke to provide on-going satisfaction of Middle office  services.

§  Oversees support staff and production process

§  Facilitate teams to critically review current processes for effectiveness, quality and simplification

§  Identify risks and issues in business processes and systems.

§  Develop in-depth knowledge of the organization’s business lines and products.

§  Assist in promoting the implementation of best practices.

§  Recommend innovative business and technical solutions to improve operational effectiveness.

§  Ensure effective communication to all the parties involved

§  Coordinate with cross-functional team to develop process requirements.

§  Inspire and motivate people to work towards the goals of the company.

§  Ensure the process of change is smooth and uneventful for the company

Contributing Responsibilities

§  The Candidate will report to the VP of the process.

§  The position interacts with other Process Associates, Mid Office Staff, Relationship Managers and Clients.

§  The position interacts with International Team Members of BNP Group.

§  Reporting of exceptions in line with internal control and external client requirements

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

·       Thorough understanding of all Derivative product classes

·       Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, and solid organizational and interpersonal skills.

·        Good verbal and written communication.

·        Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, prioritizes multiple tasks and meets strict deadlines

·        To be based in Chennai / Mumbai and be available to travel if required.

·        Must be prepared to work in any shift supporting the business.

·        Identify Operational Risk Areas within the Client Business Revenue Process.

·        Supervise, Monitor, Control and Co-ordinate all activities in the department.

·        Lead and motivate the employees.

·        Identify and develop succession plan.
