The position at a glance

REPORT TO 

NAR APS manager in Montreal

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support primarily to Axiom V10 application ((including IHC, Canada and Broker Dealer reports) and secondary to other applications in Functions area such as Informatica, OFSAA, OBIEE etc.
  • Prioritization, investigation, resolution, and escalation of  user and application queries and issues
  • Monitor incident details, including the Configuration Items affected for all in scope applications
  • Provide hands-on application specific technical support for issues that are escalated by Users or offshore team
  • Work with infrastructure teams to escalate/resolve any infrastructure related issues
  • Perform deployments or provide hands-on application specific technical support
  • Proactive application and system monitoring
  • High degree of communication with users, management, developers and peers
  • Involvement with technical and functional quality processes and reviews
  • Automate processes for common tasks and reporting
  • Adhere to Change management process
  • Manage knowledge database

REQUIREMENTS

TRAINING AND OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum Bachelor’s level of education or equivalent
  • 5+ years of IT experience, preferably in a support role
  • Knowledge of Axiom is must
  • Excellent communication skills in English are mandatory (both written and verbal)
  • Experience in a banking environment preferable

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • UNIX/ Linux
  • Shell Scripting
  • SQL (Sybase or Oracle)
  • C++ (or Java)
  • AXIOM and other reporting tools
  • Informatica

Work Hours

  • Being in a support, candidate may need to work on Bank Holidays or weekends along with  on-call coverage outside of business hours
