position with be part of the IT Security Transformation team at Bank of the
West and will help execute our security agendas and realize security goals by
building and improving internal processes and technology environments. By
guiding Bank of the West through large and complex cyber initiatives, we will
help improve our company's security posture, enable the business and increase
the value we get out of security technology investments.
limited supervision, participates in the engineering, development, testing and
implementation of security settings for applications in an enterprise
environment. Collaborating with other team members to develop security
strategies and deployment processes.
Intermediate knowledge of regulatory environment and compliance related issues.
Intermediate knowledge of datacenter design and operations.
Remains current on new technology and maintains appropriate certifications.
Identify and resolve all security risks and
incidents, establish automated processes and suggest improvements that improve
application implementations in cloud-based infrastructure.
Installs system software, ensures proper security, performance and stabilizes
Maintains technical quality in operating environments through the monitoring
and development of secure solutions.

Diagnoses and provides solutions to problems clients are experiencing.
• Analyze the results of security reviews and related
findings, document and advise product team of vulnerabilities, exploitability,
risk and mitigation.
Coordinates the tasks associated with vulnerabilities.
Reviews and contributes to application, system and network performance results,
and the development of system security standards, strategies, and workflows.
• Conduct application security assessments across all BOTW
products and services.
Demonstrated competency with information security fundamentals and technical
concepts - including applications and various cyber attacks
Experience in a regulated industry highly desirable; financial services
Assists the business, security and technical subject matter experts to deploy
security fixes, controls and processes.
Defines, analyzes, evaluates, and aids in the implementation of security
solutions to meet business needs.
2+ years of experience in security code review for languages
2+ years of experience building on IaaS platforms like VMware
along with AWS, Azure, or GCE
4+ years of experience in automating security testing and
developing new automation tools for cloud environments and web/mobile
successful candidate will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills,
characteristics, experiences and/or abilities:

solution proposal alternatives
documented techniques and performs testing and certifications.
existing technology & application implementations and suggest and implement
improvements and upgrades.
and evaluate the most advanced tools, technology, and product design solutions
that support secure enterprise-wide applications.
awareness of the foundation that virtual infrastructure provides for the
delivery of IT services.
with IBM ICP and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS) desired
with Splunk desired
Certified Professional (VCP) desired
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
