Business Overview:

The Marketing & Communications team oversees the communication strategy of BNP Paribas in the Americas including that of Corporate & Institutional Banking, in collaboration with Bank of the West, and the Group communications teams. The functions of this group include Events & Partnerships, Media Relations and Social Media, Philanthropic Initiatives, Advertising, Client Creative Services and Internal & Executive Communications.


This is an opportunity to work in a stimulating setting as the Event Assistant for the Events & Partnerships Team. We’re looking for a team player who is dependable and ready to learn, pitch in and grow within a dynamic group.

  • Create and maintain quarterly team Gifts & Entertainment Log.
  • Responsible for recommending, sourcing and procuring branded corporate gifts for client and internal events; regularly liaise with Head of Client Creative Services to ensure branded items are consistent and compliant with Group branding strategy.
  • Management of shared event team drive.
  • Oversight of Events Calendar and updates to MarCom team as needed.
  • Internal data entry and organization - help on event-budgeting and planning.
  • Management of event registration sites.
  • Supports team members on event brainstorming sessions as needed.
  • Coordinate events from planning to execution.
  • Assist with post-event follow up and analysis.
  • Support client work and schedule client meetings, as needed.
  • Research new event spaces and help on researching program venues with lead event planner.
  • Meeting planning on and off site, assist with scheduling all appointments, logistics, and travel.
  • Manage and ensure compliance with all internal and external rules and regulations as they pertain to BNP Paribas’ events, partnerships and sponsorships.
  • Learning Brand guidelines and working with our Client Creative Services team as needed.
  • General operations support.
  • Work on ad-hoc projects as needed.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Strong project management, data management and event budget management skills.

  • Solid attention to detail.

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

    • Must work well in a team environment and must be able to build and maintain effective working relationships. Have the ability to work independently when needed.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

  • The ability to convert data into charts/infographics for presentation.

  • Creativity – the ability to draft correspondence.

  • Must work well under pressure, excellent organizational abilities, set and meet deadlines, be able to manage several priorities in a day; must be dependable, adaptable, and self-motivated, but also comfortable asking for guidance as needed.

  • Ability to multi task and keep professional composure in a fast paced environment with constantly changing priorities.

  • Technical: Microsoft OS (Word, PowerPoint, especially Excel), Outlook, SharePoint, social networking platforms

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3 years of experience in Event Management

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • General knowledge of the banking industry and global financial markets preferred.

  • Experience working in a diverse, matrix organization

  • Willingness to travel, as needed.

  • Experience with working with CRM platforms not required, but a plus.
