Position Purpose



Relationship Manager (RM) 
Manage client relationships as pilot or contributor in accordance with BNPP guidelines and policies in terms of Conduct, Compliance and Risk. Aim at maximizing client revenues and return on risk-weighted capital by providing suitable banking solutions to client genuine needs

Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities

Origination and marketing

    • Initiate and coordinate implementation of the business strategy on his clients, in accordance with client genuine needs in close coordination with product teams.
    • Look out proactively for prospects which fit the bank strategy, in particular prioritizing prospects with multi-metier potential  in line with BNPP Strategy
    • Regular marketing visits to existing clients and prospects to understand needs and identify opportunities 
    • Work with Product Partners and regional and global pilot RMs.
    • Monitor client financials and business, gather market intelligence. Ensure that (i) client is offered the right banking solutions and (ii)  risks (credit, operational, compliance.) are well monitored (iii) financial information is  up to date
    • Appropriate follow up in terms of call memos, visit reports, business opportunities are appropriately logged in relevant client management tool such as CRM Lite)
    • Liaise closely with various stakeholders, in particular product lines in particular  to ensure a coordinated marketing/business approach as One-Bank Strategy. 

KYC / Onboarding /Recertification
(a) As SBO or SCBO, responsible for KYC (onboarding and recertification)
(b) Risk scoring assessment of new clients. Key tasks include:

    • Collect requisite documents as per Client Management – Due Diligence checklist
    • Collate information on the client such as: financial information, transaction volume, products traded, etc.
    • Perform risk scoring of the client

(c) Ensure compliance with Bank’s policies/procedures and regulatory requirements, in particular with regards to the KYC responsibilities and duties, as per relevant policies and procedures, and the summary of responsibilities list attached hereto (See below Appendix)

Risk Management 

•    Be mindful of all type of risks related to client activity (reputation, compliance, operational, credit) 

Credit risk: Credit application
(a) Prepare all necessary credit proposals  (Ad-hoc, new credit proposal, annual reviews..) with the support of product teams on a timely basis,
(b) Coordinate with respective GRMs/Pilots whenever necessary

    • Responsible for completing the following parts in the credit proposal: 
    • Account strategy
    • Client presentation
    • Financial analysis
    • Risks & mitigations
    • Sustainability strategy

(c) Coordinate with various departments (e.g. Risk Corporate) in the preparation of credit proposals for presentation in the respective committees 
(d) Present the credit proposal during the credit committee
(e) Once credit is approved, take the necessary steps to have the facility activated 

Compliance:
Follow strictly guidelines in terms of Compliance (AML, Sanctions) guidelines, Country Policy etc., Complete mandatory trainings in timely manner. 

Conduct:  
-Adhere strictly to BNPP code of conduct 

KPIs : will include objectives related to:
(a) Client revenues (level, degree of diversification)
(b) Return on Risk-weighted capital
(c) Quality of risk portfolio
(d) Onboarding of new relationships and maintenance existing relationships

Specific Qualifications (if required)

• Bachelor Degree in Business/ Finance or Accountancy 

• Hands on experience and Knowledge of Commodity trade/ structure trade finance solutions to cater to 
  specific needs of clients of clients in the various commodity sectors (Agri, metals and energy). 

• Good knowledge of the local and regional commodity markets

• Has general knowledge and understanding of other banking products including, but not limited global and capital  
  market products, transaction banking products (cash management, supply chain management) 

• Ability to work in a fast-pace environment 

• Good communication skills in both English and Mandarin 

• Proficient in English writing skill
