Business Overview:

The Americas RISK function covers BNPP wholesale and retail banking activities in the Americas. Integrated into a group-wide RISK function, RISK Americas covers the 2nd largest regional BNPP platform worldwide. The main objectives of the RISK team are to i) advise the Bank management on the risk policy definition, ii) contribute as a "second pair of eyes" that risks taken on by the Bank align with its policies, iii) report and alert Bank Management of the status of risks to which the bank is exposed. With business-dedicated risk teams and more transversal risk practices, RISK Americas cover all types of risks from financials (credit, market, liquidity) to non-financials (model, operational, technology…) anticipating, assessing, monitoring and reporting risks at all levels; from large transactions, to portfolio, to regional exposure. With presence across the Americas to cover the various BNPP Americas activities, the teams are highly collaborative, as well as very integrated with the Group RISK function

Responsibilities:

  • Pro-actively contributes to the design of RISK Americas operational excellence agenda, including the development and reinforcement of Transformation best-practices
  • Identifies Transformation opportunities on all dimensions of operational excellence (efficiency, quality of service, resilience) and builds a path to execution
  • Contributes to the build out of the analytics capability to support RISK Americas’ transformation journey
  • Supervises junior team members, acts as a coach to support their personal development and career aspirations
  • Leads Transformation projects, including overall project plan, timeframe, stakeholder relationships, and quality of deliverables
  • Pro-actively identifies risks / anticipate roadblocks on transformation initiatives, and drives resolution
  • Acts as Point of Contact for RISK Americas to support large regional or global transformation programs
  • Supports regulatory mandate and remediation effort as needed

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience with a within a Consulting/Transformation practice or leading program deliveries
  • Strong executive presence and comfort working with senior executives

Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of different types of risks and the bank’s overall risk and control framework
  • In-depth knowledge of industry-wide regulatory/competitor trends and regulatory lifecycle
  • Experience working with a variety of business lines and functions
  • Manages multiple projects independently

  • Writes sharp and straight-to-the-point management summaries
  • Ability to deliver quality results against fast-paced project deliverable deadlines
