Supervisory Relations is
one of three connected teams within the Regulatory Strategy & Policy function
for BNPP’s Intermediate Holding Company (“IHC”) and Wholesale operations in the
U.S. Supervisory Relations acts as a
liaison with the bank’s U.S. regulators to promote effective relationships and
to ensure a consistent, cohesive, and strategic approach to interactions with
supervisors. Supervisory Relations
coordinates regulatory engagements, oversees regulatory exams and reviews, and
supports management in identifying and responding to key themes in supervisory
activities. The Supervisory Relations
team works closely with other teams within Regulatory Strategy & Policy,
and with executive management, business lines, and control functions (including
Compliance, Finance, Risk and Legal). The
team also coordinates with teams at Bank of the West.
BNPP is looking for a highly motivated,
self-directed individual to join the Supervisory Relations team. The Regulatory Examinations Specialist will be responsible
for managing regulatory examinations and continuous monitoring for BNPP’s U.S. banking
regulators for the IHC and wholesale operations. Essential duties
and responsibilities include:
- Serve as regulatory liaison coordinating
interactions with BNPP’s U.S. banking regulators.
- Support management of BNPP’s regulatory relationships
through advising regional and business management on regulatory inquiries
- Manage meetings
between BNPP subject matter experts and regulators including
scheduling/coordinating meetings, preparing management for meetings,
recording key issues and outcomes, and ensuring actions are addressed
- Review document
requests and preview with examiners to define focus of discovery.
overall exam logistics and action plans, which includes tracking deliverables,
action items and ensuring timely and complete submissions.
frequent communications with regulators on supervisory expectations. Escalate to management and relevant
business units on potential issues to ensure prompt attention and
- Coordinate with relevant
parties within the firm to respond to findings/close-out letters. Follow up with relevant parties
regarding the resolution of findings resulting from regulatory
examinations with a view to improve future examination results.
- Provide ongoing analysis of supervisory issues
related to coverage
– 10 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in a business function,
control function or regulatory relations role.

Knowledge of operational risk management and/or information technology topics
is highly desirable.
