Position Purpose

To provide IT testing services in order for the various BP2S business units to achieve their respective corporate goals and objectives while adhering to local, regional and global security standards.

The role of the Test Manager sits within the Information Technology team which is part of the Information Technology & Change division of BNP Paribas Securities Services (BP2S).

The primary role of the Test Manager is to ensure that all changes deployed meet the client’s expectations and that the Service Delivery team is able to support these changes in the production environment.

The Test Manager is responsible for:

  •        The definition, execution, monitoring and ongoing improvement of the local test strategy
  •        Simplify the existing testing process to adopt a more agile approach
  •        Ensuring alignment to global tools and processes
  •        Ensuring compliance with local methodologies (both Waterfall and Agile)
  •        Management of onshore testing resources, and oversee offshore resources
  •        Development and maintenance of any relevant test processes (for example FSAT)

The Test Manager will work across all projects, having responsibility for the management, development and the delivery of testing capability into projects that are managed across all platforms.

They communicate with internal, offshore and external stakeholders (including business stakeholders in operations, product and coverage, BNP Paribas Territory IT who manage networks and infrastructure, Paris and London branches for global projects, standards, vendors, consultants, suppliers, auditors and occasionally BP2S clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Controlling – keep projects on track by:
    • Measuring: checking test progress toward meeting its objectives
    • Evaluating: determining the cause of deviations from the plan
    • Correcting: Taking corrective actions to address deviations by managing risks and issues
    • Achieving the above by defining baselines, tracking test progress, and test status reporting, determining and taking corrective actions
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Working with project managers and project team (developers, testers, service delivery, etc.)
    • Business partnering
    • Working with client and vendors
  • Projects deliverables /
    • Test Strategy
    • Test Plan
    • Test Completion reports
    • Risk analysis
    • Use JIRA / TFS to create agile project deliverables and track project update
  • Team Management
    • Provides concise direction and objectives for the team members and evaluates their performance on a periodic basis
    • Manage a team of 3+ onsite and 20 offshore testers and functional consultants
    • Leads by example, develops team spirit, shares information
    • Motivating test team members
    • Performance reviews and career plans for team members
    • Trains and motivates team members to achieve their career goals
    • Promotes initiative and innovation
    • Facilitates training, where required, on tools, processes and procedures
    • Implements and enforces new processes and procedures
    • Reviews, updates and enforces existing processes and procedures
    • Escalation point for Test related issues
    • Ensuring adherence to the policies and procedures to support the achievement of project and department objectives

    • Lead testing, monitored automation framework and execution
    • Ability to adopt the BNP ways and existing environments that are in place

Experience and Qualifications required for the role:


  • 5 yrs + Experience in leading/managing a team
  • 10 yrs + Experience in Testing
  • 5 yrs + Relevant IT or Financial services experience
  • Experience working with an offshore team
  • Experience in Customer (internal/external) facing roles


  • Experience in an agile environment
  • Strong appreciation of production responsibilities within an international financial institution
  • Experience with financial institutions
  • Knowledge of custodian and/or funds management administration
  • Tertiary qualification in IT
