Senior Lawyer

QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

• University degree from reputable Turkish Law Faculty (Master degree is an asset)
• Minimum 4 years of experience in similar position (in legal department of a bank, multinational company or reputable law firm). Work experience in banking sector will be highly appreciated,
• Having an excellent command of English, French will be a plus,
• Good communication, organization and negotiation skills (oral and written),
• Strong analytical skills combined with good synthesis capacity,
• Self-starter, strong follow-up, motivated, agile, time-management skills, and able to work with flexible hours,
• Detail oriented / Multi-task operating skills,
• Ability to take initiative,
• Ability to respond to business issues with legally sound and workable solutions often under critical time pressure,
• Ability to work effectively concentrating on the given priorities and objectives by assuming full responsibility, 
• Ability to provide end-to-end solutions in coordination with related stakeholders,  
• Ability to work unsupervised in the area of primary responsibility,
• Personal compatibility with company values and practices, initiative and potential to contribute to the efficiency of the legal department, as well as an eager approach to perpetual learning and sharing of knowledge and expertise,
• Good knowledge of Law of Obligations, Contracts Law, Corporate Law and Capital Markets Law. Knowledge in Banking Legislation is an asset,
• Knowledge of MS Office Applications.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Structuring, drafting, negotiating all types of commercial contracts, mainly focused on project finance contracts, syndicated loan agreements, derivative contracts (knowledge of ISDA, GMRA is an asset)
• Maintaining close cooperation and coordination with and providing hands-on support to related business line,
• Giving accurate and timely consultancy to business in a variety of legal topics, including treasury, capital market, banking & commercial transactions, credit facilities, foreign trade..etc.,
• Ensuring the legal policies are up to date and implemented across the business unit,
• Effective engagement with external legal counsels where required,
• Examining legal precedents and new legislation which will have an effect on Bank’s business.

REPORTING LINE
Person in this position will be a part of the Corporate Banking, Corporate Institutional Banking and Subsidiaries Legal Department and will report to the Head of this Department (Legal Manager
