DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

 

The Finance FINREG teams are responsible for preparing and submitting US financial and regulatory reports, as well as information needed to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and other internal controls.

The BOW Financial Reporting team is responsible for the Bank of the West regulatory reports and works in partnership with teams in San Ramon, California, to produce reports required by regulators like the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

 

 

 

JOB OVERVIEW

You will be working in a job where you will acquire thorough knowledge of business management. Your decision-making skills will establish you as a consummate professional in many role varieties and will offer you leadership opportunities.

As a Financial Reporting Specialist, you will manage the collection and compilation of financial data from across the financial systems architecture, ensuring their quality, accuracy, validity and that they are submitted on time. Through liaising with internal clients (legal, compliance, auditing, territory governance, project finance office, operations) and external clients (regulatory authorities, auditors and consultants), you will prepare reports in accordance with specific financial/regulatory conventions and standards. In some situations, you may also be involved in peer-review production.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Producing financial reports — Owning assigned reports; defining end-to-end runbooks; compiling report review packages; coordinating problem troubleshooting. Avoiding control failures, second LoDs and/or audit results and recharges. Maximizing the main team's satisfaction.

Improving reporting processes — Standardization of financial reporting processes. Responding to internal and external stakeholder requests. Implementing unique best practice tools.

Project management — Contributing to assigned project phases: business requirements, user acceptance testing and implementation preparation.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

 

 

Accounting — Ability to collect, analyze, monitor and consolidate financial data for financial statements and regulatory reporting.

Regulations and standards — Ability to establish and promote awareness of regulatory and accounting requirements for reports and consolidated statements.

Client-focused — Ability to engage with internal stakeholders and external customers as "clients," recognizing that clients are the main driver of commercial decisions.

Teamwork — Ability to work and cooperate with others, both within own team and between different teams, in or outside of hierarchical and functional relationships (in top-down, bottom-up and/or cross-functional relationships), with a project-centric focus and with people from other cultures and companies, embracing different interpersonal and work approaches.

A minimum of seven years' experience in finance.
A bachelor's degree in a related field is essential.
Preferably a master's degree in a related field.
Preferably a recognized accounting qualification.
Knowledge of Oracle HFM and Matisse would be an advantage.
Bilingual : English and French
