advisory and agency team.

forecast housing growth, including the South East, South West, Midlands, North,
East Anglia and Scotland working closely with Valuation, Residential/New Homes,
Rural and Commercial business lines.

Our dedicated planning teams promote clients' land through the planning system
and deal with site-specific planning applications, while our development teams
advise landowners on options, promotion agreements and joint ventures. Our
thorough knowledge of the market ensures that we are able to advise on the
optimum solution for promoting our clients' landholdings to achieve the best
price on sale.
role will involve working closely with the Head of Planning and the wider
Development team primarily in the residential and mixed use sectors:
analysing and reporting to landowner clients on development opportunities
within their land holdings;
land through the strategic planning process on behalf of landowners, house builders,
promoters and investors, securing allocations, in-principle and detailed
consents, negotiating Section 75 agreements, dealing with planning and legal
appeals and other dispute processes;
development management advice, working with clients, architects and other
professionals to promote planning and listed building consents and undertake
appeals on behalf of private clients, regional and national house builders,
developers and promoters.
role will be based in the Perth Office but will likely require travel primarily
within Central and East Scotland with scope to “hot desk” in other Strutt &
Parker/BNP Paribas Real Estate Offices.
principal focus will be Central and Eastern Scotland however for the right
client or opportunity, we will work in other areas within Scotland and the
North of England.
Purpose & Objectives of the Position
candidate will help deliver an existing pipeline of planning applications and
strategic land promotional work, liaising closely with the Head of Planning and
the wider Development team to ensure full continuity of service and advice to
candidate will seek to maintain and develop a pipeline of planning consultancy
instructions working closely with the rural, commercial, planning, valuation,
residential agency and building surveying teams to optimise new business and
candidate will require strong communication and business development skills, an
aspiration to develop their own reputation and profile and that of the team and
the ability to gain the respect of client and their advisors by consistently
providing insightful, innovative and highly professional advice and support.
Skills & Qualifications
Professionally qualified MRICS/MRTPI
At least 2 years relevant post-qualified experience
Excellent research and analytical skills
Excellent IT skills including use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet
Detailed knowledge of Scottish and Local Planning Policy
Experience of environmental assessment.
High quality consultancy skills including report and proposal writing, presentations and general communication;
Confident written and verbal communicator, able to present ideas and recommendations to clients clearly and effectively at a high level;
Personal motivation to develop individual and team profile and reputation in the marketplace for providing the highest quality of advice.
