Position Summary

The National Program manager is a core member of the Retail Banking Group Sales Support team whose role includes leading critical programs for our Retail Branch Network. Examples would include but are not limited to Bank at Work, Bank at School, Employee Banking and Customer Contact Strategy.  The Program Manager will also assist with the development of and execution of new programs to support the sales activities of the Retail Banking Group in conjunction with our marketing and product partners.  This role will also ensure the coordination of sales programs within the Retail Banking Group.

Position Responsibilities

  • Proactively identifies & manages key projects and programs that have national scope and cross business, customer and support team lines-of-business to ensure successful execution

  • Assist in the integration and execution of national programs to support RBG deposit, lending and growth goals

  • Drive consistency of processes and programs across the retail branch network

  • Partner with key stakeholders, specifically Small & Medium Enterprise and Corporate and Commercial Banking as well as Senior Retail Management to ensure integration of programs across line of business initiatives

  • Analyze and report on effectiveness of programs

  • Develops the Bank at Work and Bank at School strategy for Bank of the West.  Establishes a Value Proposition for the outside sales activities, manages the goal setting and unique scorecard process/performance for the overall Bank at Work unit.  Sets criteria for targeted sales calling, with an emphasis on developing relationships with Universities and larger businesses. 

  • Responsible for financial performance of the Bank at Work portfolio, ensures results provide an incremental lift to the business.  Reviews results, trends and prepares a sales plan to address opportunities and ensure strategic alignment with the overall goals of the retail bank.

  • Develop, lead and ensure continuous training and development of Bank at Work team.  Establish the Bank at Work offsite sales process and develops an integrated plan to achieve business productivity and revenue targets. 

  • Create a Bank at Work scorecard for the Relationship Managers team, with an emphasis on business development and deepening via strategic business partnerships with Small &Medium Enterprise and Corporate & Commercial Banking. 

  • Coordinates Cross Business integration and cooperation between the Bank at Work team and segment/specialist partners.  Ensures reciprocity of referrals with the Commercial, Small & Medium Enterprise, and Wealth teams

  • Works closely with marketing to develop needed Bank at Work sales materials, direct mail and other activities as they relate to marketing.

  • Creates a Value Proposition for Employee Banking, leads the efforts via the Retail Branches to establish and deepen relationships with Bank of the West employees nationally.

  • Develops an effective customer contact strategy to manage the existing book of business as well as prospective customers within the branch network.  Identifies and implements tactics aligned with marketing campaigns to deepen customer share of wallet within Bank of the West. 

  • Reviews and aligns lead generation and delivery with branch capacity plans to ensure maximum effectiveness of outbound efforts

  • Creates tactics that support the Customer Experience value proposition

  • Develop scripts for outbound calling activities within the branch and the contact center to enhance/lift sales results and the customer experience

  • Identifies system enhancements and leads projects to provide efficiency and effectiveness of the retail outbound customer contact strategy


Qualifications

  • Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one area.

  • Typically has advanced knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline  with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization

  • Requires 10 years minimum prior relevant experience.

  

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
