Nickel is a payment institution licensed by the ACPR (Bank of France) and, since 2017, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas.

With more than 3 million accounts opened and 7,000 tobacconists transformed into small branches, Nickel is a great success story and the #1 payment institution in France.

With more than 580 employees based in Paris, Nantes, Madrid, Lisbon and Brussels, Nickel is accelerating its international development. Spain was launched in 2021, Belgium and Portugal in 2022 and Germany this year.

Our objective in Portugal is to reach 450.000 accounts and 2,500 points of sale in 2027 thanks to our attractive current account offer. 





As a Marketing Lead, you’ll play a critical role in the success of our growth ambition by positively promoting and building brand awareness and driving lead generation through a wide range of channels.

This function is a nice combination between coordination, operational execution and strategy. You will manage the marketing campaigns together with the Director of Marketing and Communication, the Central marketing teams in France and local agencies. Therefore you’ll need to have a good understanding of what’s driving our customers and which content is converting.

We’re looking for a flexible and versatile marketer, customer-oriented entrepreneur who dares to take initiatives and have a result oriented approach, while also being hands-on to deliver and execute campaigns.

The position is based in Lisbon and you will be directly reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communication of Nickel Portugal.

Your main missions will be:

As a Marketing Lead, you will be in charge of B2B & B2C communications and campaigns.


·      Build brand awareness across the Portuguese market, almost from scratch as Nickel was launched 1 year ago;

·      Drive leads and get them convert into customers;

·      Execute the media plan, with a strong focus on offline media;

·      Brief, plan and manage the execution of the campaigns together with the agency;

·      Produce valuable and engaging content that attracts and converts our target groups;

·      Review and approve marketing materials;

·      Support on PR campaign activities;


·      Drive leads and prospects to support the sales team in the recruitment of new points of sale;

·      Manage all CRM communications towards our points of sale together with the Central team in France;

·      Support the sales by delivering the needed communication materials and trade incentive mechanics;

For both

·      Measure and report on the performance of the marketing campaigns;

·      Ensure deadlines and budget are met.


The ideal candidate should have the following profile:

·         At least 3 years of experience working in marketing together with the potential and attitude required to learn and grow in the company.

·         Bachelor´s degree in business, marketing or relevant field of study.

·         Proficiency in English and Portuguese, both spoken and written. some knowledge of French will be much appreciated. 

·         Advanced oral and written communication skills with an innate attention to detail.

·         Ability to work independently and autonomously, and to manage time and multiple priorities to execute high quality deliverables.

·         Entrepreneurial and ‘test and learn’ mindset,

·         Comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics, data-driven decision-making.

·         A sense of aesthetics and a love for great copy and witty communication
