Position Purpose:

  1. Manage and motivate Wealth Planning Team members collectively and individually to deliver high quality and timely wealth planning services to clients of BNP Paribas Wealth management in Asia region 
  2. To implement agreed strategy based on market approach proactively generating introductions from Wealth management relationship managers through building confidence and trust in capabilities and services level.
  3. Ensure all relevant BNPP policies and principles are effectively applied in managing risks inherent in provision of Wealth Planning Service and comply with TFS Key principles

Key Responsibilities:

1.    Management of Wealth Planning Teams
a.    Motivate team members individually and collectively to perform successfully delivering high quality services
b.    Establish and monitor key objectives for individual team members and team collectively
c.    Leading regular team meetings to update on internal matters, policies, technical developments, achievements against objectives etc.
d.    Provide team members with feedback on performance regularly and conduct meaningful performance appraisals within time frame notified
e.     Promote team work
f.    Ensure job description are monitored an updated as appropriate
g.    Develop knowledge and skills of team on continuous basis through internal guidance, training and selective external seminars
h.    Develop materials to assist in explaining solutions for specialized markets and TFS Services generally for RMs 

2.    Building and management of Wealth Management key relationships

a.    Implement a market focused philosophy to communications between self and respective Market Heads; team members and RMs in markets
b.    Present relevant training and regular reporting to market Heads
c.    Wealth Planner to be allocated to specific markets and be proactive in forming specialist partnerships with RMs, particular for key Client Group segment
d.    Meetings and discussions with Clients, RMs and professional advisors in developing relationship and solutions.  Travel will be required regularly and in this regard BNPP Wealth management Cross Border principles and Country Manuals must be respected
e.    Attendance and contribution at meetings, business development working groups etc - with Market Heads and their teams 
f.    Internal presentations on WPS organization and plans as and when required
g.    Maintain careful watch on developments in markets to communicate these efficiently and timely to Market Heads, RMs and other WPS sites for action and briefing to clients.  Update materials such as Country Memos as necessary

3.    Wealth Planning and Risk Management

a.    Ensure all wealth planning solutions proposed are compliant with Trust and Fiduciary Services Key Principles especially with regard to any solution which has tax optimization as key objective 
b.    Ensure external legal and or tax advice is obtained in accordance with the policies of the respective TFS sites where the prospective structure is to be introduced. 
c.    Maintain good professional relationships with management of TFS sites and ensure any changes to their policies are effectively to the team
d.    WPS team to meet TFS Revenue objective from Asia Region.  Discuss and agree each market objective which should also cover insurance referral fees
e.    WPS team to contribute actively to achieve RMs objectives with regard to increase of AUM and net new cash.  Monitor position and provide position within regular reporting to market Heads
f.    Member of NBIC for acceptance of business to be introduced to TFS sites 
g.    Direct contribution to BNPP operational permanent control framework
i.    Responsibility for implementation of operational control policies and procedures in day to day business activities such as Control Plan
ii.    Responsible for ensuring team members comply with regulatory and internal guidelines
iii.    Responsible for reporting all incidents according to the incident management system

4.    Other

a.    Ensure knowledge of technical developments remains current
b.    Contribute to New WPS product development initiatives 
c.    Maintain good lines of communication with regular monthly updates (as a minimum) with Regional Head of Wealth Planning Solutions 
d.    Represent WPS at client and internal events 
 


Competencies (Technical/Behavioural):

  • Strong technical knowledge in trust, tax, accounting and company law
  • Ability to assist in drafting of legal documentation
  • Strong Private Banking knowledge
  • Strong marketing sense with good client relationship/ inter-personal skills
  • Good presentation skills, good negotiation skills- ability to articulate and communicate effectively
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Computer skills
  • Minimum 10 years working experience of Wealth Planning, Private Banking, Trust and other fiduciary services, or equivalent experience
