COO Oxygen Finance Platform (hierarchical) and CFO EMEA (functional)

The Head of Oxygen Finance EMEA Teams provides local supervision of all activities related to the Finance EMEA Team (Subject Matter Streams and Financial Synthesis) in Oxygen Madrid and functional supervision of the respective Subject Matter Stream teams (excl Capital Markets Products)

Within Subject Matter Streams ensures an accurate, reliable and comprehensive set of segmented financial data required for the production of all Reporting streams through a solid control framework that covers oversight on upstream processes, Finance own processes and controls on data quality. Relies on an organization by stream of expertise: Banking Products, securities portfolios & own funds, corporate accounting & expenses.

Acts as a strategic leader and key enabler of the extended team model providing flexible and reliable support to Head Office and Local Finance Teams, continually improving client satisfaction. Drives consistency and harmonisation for all financial dimensions under scope, participates in associated projects and transformation initiatives.

Scope: Finance EMEA (All applicable entities in the region including, CIB, Metropole, Arbitrage)

Main responsibilities

Supervision functionally of EMEA Subject Matter Stream teams (excl Capital Markets Products)

  • Banking Products is in charge of all financials topics linked to customers’ banking products – credit & cost of risk, payments, deposit, customer securities, fees, other provisions and related sundry accounts

  • Measure and book the required adjustments in accounting to ensure completion and accurateness through all reporting axes, including the segmented axis. Review & perform the Suspense Provisioning

  • Manage the cost of risk processing

  • Ensure the oversight of accounting controls performed by Banking Products Operations based on their monthly control results & quarterly sub-certification

  • Control and analyse the data that contribute to the regulatory reporting (BMRC feeding, Accounting to Risk reconciliation, non-standard feeds….) & the disclosure production

  • Corporate Accounting & Expenses

  • Ensure End to End accounting & reporting for a specific list of European subsidiaries

  • Maintain the general accounting of all entities, including overheads, inter-entity reinvoicing (Transfer Pricing, SRF, etc.)

  • Perform and/or control the accounting and tax classification for overheads, pay-roll and employee benefit expenses, depreciation and amortization on tangible and intangible assets

  • Control & Explain Corporate Accounting & Expenses

  • Securities Portfolios & Own Funds:

  • Ensure all Back office tasks relative to securities portfolios & own funds, including Reporting & tax classification

  • Measure and book own funds operations

  • Control & Explain securities & own funds evolution

Supervision locally of EMEA Financial Synthesis teams : provides local support to the Head of EMEA Financial Synthesis teams located in Paris for administrative management of Oxygen teams, HR matters, and can punctually intervene on functional matters

Projects, Systems Support, Operational Process Improvements

  • In partnership with the Project team, contributes to the standardization/harmonization of best practices across systems and processes

  • Ensure the participation of the team in the upgrades/version releases of the reports, as well as system amendments/enhancements required to facilitate new/modified reporting requirements. In connection with this effort, assist in user acceptance testing and trouble-shooting after deployment

  • Assist in identifying operational process improvements in production, control procedures, and workflow organization to increase the team’s efficiency and effectiveness

Other functions

  • Ensure team’s observance of the bank’s policies and procedures

  • Responsible for the staffing operational process (recruiting, hiring, training) and ensure that staff’s skills and competencies can support the business requirements

  • Prepare short and long term resource plans for his respective team; establish objectives and performance standards/metrics, conducts performance reviews, and provide coaching, counselling and career development of personnel


Training and occupational experience

  • University degree in finance & accounting, economics or comparable background

  • Minimum 12-15 years’ work experience in finance functions in an international environment, in the financial sector

  • Minimum 5 years in similar Managerial role.

Essential specific requirements

  • Strategic knowledge and understanding of all financial dimensions impacting Finance EMEA Entities (Generally accepted accounting principles, IFRS, LRR, and regulatory and tax accounting rules and regulations, French Gap) 

  • Exhaustive Banking product knowledge, products, services and their profitability

  • Strong understanding of financial and operational risk control requirements to ensure that financial systems in place are compliant and continuously monitored

  • Professional proficiency in English is mandatory, French highly recommended and local language is plus
