Job Description Summary

The primary responsibility for this position is to support BOW’s capital planning and stress testing governance activities through various means – representative examples include the creation and maintenance of governance materials, review and creation of key stress testing governance materials, and the documentation, review and challenge of select capital management assumptions.

 

 

Essential Job Functions


  • Collaborates with department manager to build strong relationships with internal departments in order to continuously improve and better understand the stress testing process and capital planning activities, including the associated governance activities.

  • Maintain governance materials.  Proactively review the timing of key governance meetings to ensure alignment with stress testing activities and address any issues identified.

  • Partner with teams to “tell the story” through the thoughtful compilation of stress testing results and artifacts

  • Write and maintain operating procedures, manuals, and other evidentiary documents to communicate to internal/external groups and possible other interested parties the soundness and repeatability of the process

  • Understand the financial services industry regulatory environment, including CCAR/DFAST reporting requirements and regulatory expectations

  • Participate in select process and control reviews for the stress testing activities

  • Proactively communicate with teams by escalating key issues while also proposing solutions and alternatives

  • Maintain documentation related to key governance artifacts (management review materials, meeting minutes, agenda items, etc.)

  • Ensure required governance reviews related to stress testing and capital planning occur

  • Collaborates with department manager to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and control of the capital planning and stress testing reporting processes

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Economics – Required

  • Master’s/Advanced Degree in Finance/Economics/MBA – Preferred

  • Requires 5 years minimum prior relevant experience

  • Familiarity with financial modeling and the interdependency of financial statement information

  • Previous process management and/or consulting experience

  • Knowledge of financial statements, historical trends, projections, management performance, industry, cash flow, and capital structure

  • Familiarity with Bank regulatory guidelines, especially stress testing and regulatory requirements, is a plus

  • Intermediate proficiency with Excel, including but not limited to Pivot tables, Charting, Lookups/nested formulas, data manipulation, VBA familiarity a plus

  • PowerPoint experience with linking tables from excel, clear and concise slide layout design

  • Appropriate personality and character, including:

    • Ability to work well with others in a dynamic, team-oriented environment

    • Appreciation of a tight control process, ability and willingness to clearly document tools, results and other products of work

    • Open mind and ability to quickly assimilate and understand unfamiliar information; and willingness to help and take assignments outside of the immediate area of responsibility
