Position Purpose
Junior coverage banker with primary responsibility to support senior bankers. The ultimate goal of the position as well as the team is to grow BNPP’s business and relationship with institutional clients in broader areas. The person needs to be the contact point and to navigate the institutional clients to access BNPP products, services, and expertise.
Responsibilities
BNP Paribas Securities (Japan) Ltd. is seeking to fill a VP position, senior or junior depending on the experience of the candidate, within Financial Institutions Coverage (FIC) Department. FIC is a product-neutral business (or front office) unit dedicated to large and high profile Japanese financial institutions such as banks, insurers, brokers, and asset managers. The team’s goal as well as that of each team member to promote a large array of multi-product business locally and globally.
Direct Responsibilities
1. Marketing Support
- Support Senior Relationship Manager (‘Senior RM’) in their marketing strategy
- Develop and adjust pitching documents based on Senior RM's and Business Line inputs
2. Client Relationship Support
- Participate to client meeting with Senior RM (and/or Product lines)
- Establish his/her own relationship with Director and General Manager level of the clients
3. Maintain Client Intelligence
- Responsible for updating central data collection tools based on knowledge gathered from Senior RM and external sources during pitches
4. KYC/Compliance Process Management
- Involve in external/internal coordination for client due diligence process including support in collecting KYC information from clients
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
- Communicative skill, fluent both in Japanese and English
- Basic computer skills in Excel, Word and Power Point
- Ability to team-work and to coordinate transversal deal teams (Business Lines, different geographic sites, etc.)
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work on different topics in parallel
- Self-confidence with a strong personality
- High ethical standards
Specific Qualifications (if required)
- Working experience in similar positions (relationship manager for institutional or corporate clients) is advantageous
