Business Overview:

The Marketing & Communications team oversees the communication strategy of BNP Paribas in the Americas predominately that of Corporate & Institutional Banking, in collaboration with the Bank of the West, and the Group communications teams. The functions of this group today include Events & Sponsorship, Media Relations, Operational Marketing, Social Media, Content, Philanthropic Initiatives, Advertising, Client Creative Services, Internal Communications and Video Services.

Responsibilities:

The role involves driving the marketing strategy for Global Markets and Global Banking activities, managing projects to deliver on said strategy, and being an active participant in the day-to-day execution of business goals. As such, this role is both a strategic and operational/“hands-on” role. Ability to work hand-in-hand with Front Office & bankers as well as other functions is critical. The position is based in New York and will be supported by two HC (one based in Lisbon and the other in NY). The role will require close coordination and collaboration with the other senior Marketing Manager in the team (Bank wide Marketing), MarCom team members within the Americas region, as well as in other regions (GM & GB teams) and central business line teams.

 

The role will report to the Deputy Head of Marketing & Communications CIB Americas.

 

Marketing Strategy:

  • Build Marketing plans for each local business line – GBA & GMA – working in close collaboration with the Press, Communication and Digital teams.
    • Definition of marketing objectives with each business’ line management,
    • Determining targets,
    • Definition, planning and budgeting of marketing tactics to achieve each objective,
  • Support Client Development, and any business support team in their marketing needs to enhance our Americas Client Experience
  • Participate to regular strategic reviews of business status and objectives with business lines/head of sales/head of products
  • Ensure appropriate risk controls are in place across: project management, interfacing with legal, process, compliance teams in addition to policies and procedures
  • Develop/upgrade a proper marketing library for each business lines
  • Leverage and replicate best practices across the Group
 

Product Marketing:

  • "Packaging" of products (development of selling points, brochures,...) and business lines marketing (brochures, road shows,...), both for internal purposes (education of sales people) and external purposes (marketing to clients) – ensuring  this marketing content is delivered in a holistic manner across channels (digital, print, and other media)
  • Prepare educational presentations for product and strategy seminars both internally and with clients, in order to ensure optimal understanding of new products by all parties
  • Ensure full marketing services for our distribution business in Global Markets Americas (PB, Bank, and Insurance): executing product-marketing campaigns, coordinating and implementing: advertising, press relationships, events, product marketing, web marketing (with the Digital manager) etc.
  • Leverage on existing global marketing resources developed by other teams
  • Address specific clients/sales requests for marketing material, demonstrating flexibility and understanding of business needs
  • Leverage  Global Markets Research and other market content across BNP Paribas
  • Contribute to awards pitches with case studies, and insight into key market and product trends
  • Digitalization: Work hand and hand with our Digital team to “digitalize” our marketing offer (external and internal): develop tools and Digital library to transform our client experience in product pitching. Adapt content accordingly

  • Share strategic initiatives with peers from other platforms and capitalise on best practises
 

Wider Contribution:  

  • Contribute to global product marketing launches: contribution to key selling points, fact sheets, brochures and web tools for different client segments, in collaboration with Sales and Marketing team members from other platforms
  • Event strategy & marketing: Contribute to the development of our event strategy in collaboration with sales and event team, development of marketing messages and contents for events
  • Contribute to internal communication initiatives
  • Presence at recruitment, training and team motivations initiatives


Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Min 8 years of experience within Marketing for Capital Markets ideally
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Industry/product knowledge & understanding
  • Technical skills i.e. ability to produce marketing material (pitch books, product brochure, Town hall presentations etc.)
  • Excellent team player & team management experience
  • Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced quickly changing environment
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within Marketing for Capital Markets
