Position Purpose

Data Quality Analyst will be playing a critical role in implementing operational data quality controls and providing ongoing monitoring and investigation of data quality issues. With a strong data oriented and risk control mind-set, these individuals perform continuous data quality monitoring, controls, and reconciliation 

  • The Data Quality Analyst is a new role created for proactive data quality monitoring and issue management (coming from the users across all 12 APAC territories) 
  • Act as the owner to analyze the data quality of Rates and FX, provide regular data quality reporting to relevant data consumers and report data quality trends, KPI indicators and remediation progress
  • Be able to co-ordinate data quality remediation and support the design of recommendations with various stakeholders/SMEs
  • Prepare the documentation of governance presentation packs, incident investigation and data management artefacts (e.g., data lineage)

The key interactions are with the Rates Referential Officer who oversees coordinating investigation and remediation of data related issues for rates and FX; business representatives of all the functions of CIB ITO (Trade, Credit, Cash, Finance, ALMT), and data quality governance forum regarding the Interest rates and FX rates problems derived from the daily transactions. 

Responsibilities

Data Quality Analyst

  • Perform continuous data quality monitoring, controls and reconciliation 
  • Target specific data quality risk areas for pro-active data quality monitoring and identification of issues 
  • Provide regular data quality reporting to relevant data consumers
  • Report data quality trends, KPI indicators and remediation progress
  • Lead business requirements and issue management, including the documentation of pain points and root causes 
  • Co-ordinate design and implementation of remediation with various stakeholders/SMEs, including the user acceptance testing 
  • Support the documentation of governance presentation packs, incident investigation and data management artefacts (e.g. data lineage)

Competencies (Technical and Behavioral)

We are looking for a Data Quality Analyst with Global Banking end-to-end data quality control experiences and can provide ongoing monitoring and investigation of data quality issues in the financial services environment:

  • 3+ years of experience of data quality analysis, control, and reconciliation
  • Good technical understanding of Global Banking products and especially Interest rates and FX rates usage within Corporate Banking (Cash Management, Trade, Credit, Finance, etc.)
  • Ability to interact in a non-hierarchical framework with a variety of stakeholders including SMEs from Operations, IT, Business, and senior management
  • Comfortable operating with a strong level of autonomy and / or under pressure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to think outside the box and to deal with novelty
  • Strong written / verbal communication and reporting skills
  • Strong team working and interpersonal skills
  • Organized and delivery-focused, with attention to detail
  • Proactive, proposing or taking own initiatives to prevent risks / issues
  • Solid work ethic and high level of motivation

Specific Qualifications Required

University Degree
Proficiency in Microsoft office (MS Word, Excel & Power point), mastering a data analytics tool (Power BI, SQL, Qlik Sense, Alteryx) a plus
Fluent in spoken and written English, Mandarin and / or French a plus
