The Credit Analyst function will concentrate on all aspects of the analytical work of CCC business in terms of credit, risk and financial analysis, financial modeling, credit proposal preparation and industry research.
Main objectives will include:
1. Ensure that the credit proposals contain the required elements for decision making and are submitted in a timely manner, taking into account the maturity of the files and deadlines for new files;
2. Participate in the decision approval credit process by:
- focusing on the risk and financial analysis on the proposed facilities
- forming and presenting opinions and arguments, notably as to the facilities proposed, the customers' financial standing and their financial strength within that sector
3. Assist in the monitoring of credit process workflow and covenants, in coordination with other departments of the Bank;
4. Provide support and guidance to the commercial team on credit related tools/issues;
5. Direct contribution to BNPP operational permanent control framework
To ensure that the credit proposals are structured in a proper and timely manner, in line with the Bank’s norms. Write-up and participation in the credit proposal will be undertaken by:
Performing a quality control on the credit proposal, with particular emphasis on the description of the client, its modus operandi, risk management, shareholders and quality of management, our past relationship & experience with borrower;
Analyzing the market in which client operates (evolution of prices, liquidity and volatility), positioning client in its market and providing its key competitive advantages, perform Sector/industry research and peer group analysis;
Analyzing financial statements, with particular emphasis on evolution of performance margins, quality of assets, types of debt, cash flow and networth level;
Ensuring (i) adequacy of the proposed lines compared to client’s needs after taking into account its business model, sales, growth prospects (volume and/or price), terms of trade, size of shipments, financial performance, existing market share and past utilization of the facilities (i.e. financing rationale) and (ii) accurate classification of the risk type of the proposed facilities and GRR
Ensuring cohesiveness of the information provided in the facility description with special focus between the modus operandi of client and the transactions financed by the Bank, in liaison with the Middle office and Relationship Managers;
Ensuring that all risks to which the Bank is exposed to are clearly analyzed, explained and mitigated. Risk analysis includes review on client’s financial profile, price risks, counterparty risks, industry in which the company operates and company’s market positioning to assess accurately the operational and financial risks;
Ensuring the accurateness and cohesiveness of the information provided (including the static information provided in the FC1 cover pages)
To be proficient with all tools/software used by credit analysts and to assist other analysts with these if needed;
To build and maintain constructive relationship with all parties involved in the credit process:
Provide guidance to the Relationship Managers on the credit proposal requirements in terms of facilities proposed (structure, amount, tenor, documents required), presentation and analysis;
Report to team leader and/or other senior analysts problems encountered, conclusions/recommendations on the credit proposals and make regular updates on tasks performed and deadlines to be met;
Consulting with the various credit and risk management authorities and committees regarding credit proposals;
In coordination with the Team Head and other analysts, to assist in the monitoring of credit process workflow and to participate at the continuous improvement of the credit proposal and its process by anticipating upcoming credit reviews to ensure files are submitted within the maturity date or submitted for administrative extension (if needed);
To qualify opinion on prospects and every credit proposal written/proposed to manager and to give a brief summary on risks and possible structure enhancements;
To support business in monitoring credit portfolio with regard to ratings, concentration and overall financial risk, reviews of clients and sectors (if needed) in coordination with the Team Head and other analysts;
To develop knowledge on the various products and on the different markets that CCC Greater China is financing;
To perform other tasks, as assigned by the Management such as credit/portfolio reviews, special projects that may arise from time to time both within and outside of the CCC context;
Permanent Control Aspects:
Direct contribution to BNPP operational permanent control framework.
Contribute to the implementation of operational permanent control policies and procedures in day-to-day business activities, such as Control Plan.
Comply with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.
Contribute to the reporting of all incidents according to the Incident Management System.
Responsible for implementing audit recommendations as per the agreed timeline.
Essential Technical Knowledge/Skills :
Fluency in oral and written English and Mandarin.
Strong accounting knowledge
Strong credit analysis skills
Able to analyze the financials of prospects and clients and present them in a clear manner.
Knowledge & experience in the Commodities sector is a plus.
Good communication and presentation abilities.
