Position Purpose
- The position is for an Automation QA who would be required to work in a team responsible for deal capture systems which manage the capture and workflow through their lifetime of Credit Derivatives. These are used globally across all time zones.
- The applications are multi-tiered, primarily developed in VC++, automated using Python with strong usage of Oracle PL/SQL , IBM MQ, TIBCO RV.
- Work on these applications is a combination of M&E, including significant new functional changes to keep up with the demands of the market, development to prepare and serve the ambitions of the business and regular technical evolution.
These applications are manned by a team of Business Analysts, developers and testers, spread across London and Mumbai, with programme management in London. The team is made of very senior technicians globally who create tools and support the functional application teams by being leaders on matters of technology.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
- Automation QA will have significant involvement in project lifecycle. Desired candidate will be responsible to create and maintain the Automation test plan. Candidate will be responsible to create the foundation framework and write Python scripts to automate the important business workflows for positive and negative test scenarios. Candidate will be required to publish test suite execution results on daily basis along with reporting bugs and enhancing the automation suite based on updates in workflow.
- In a nut shell, person will be responsible to carry out all QA rituals for execution of project end to end

- The QA would report functionally to specific application Team Lead based in Mumbai/London
- QA would also participate in respective team SCRUM meeting to share the progress with stakeholders
- Is expected to learn about the product and all parts of the system at functional level
- Is required to frequently interact (by mail / chat / phone / Video Conference) with business Analysts, other application and architecture teams, production support in multiple locations, mostly in London and Singapore.
- The QA is expected to take product quality ownership for tasks independently and own them across all stages of the SDLC.
Contributing Responsibilities
- Would participate and contribute to the projects’ analysis, QA estimation, test cycles (functional and regression) and signing off product

Technical & Behavioral Competencies
- Sound knowledge of automation frameworks and python programming practices
- Extensive experience in writing test cases and automation using RIDE framework
- Experience in testing API’s using automation and tools like Postman
- Keen eye for detail
- Excellent analytical & communication skills (written/verbal)
- Should able to think through solution to write test cases and find functional bugs
- Should have knowledge of various test strategies and protocols
- High level of comfort in talking to databases using Python 3.8 and greater
- Very Good knowledge of RDBMS / SQL
- Very good in investigating issues and doing RCA’s
- Possess the ability to explain and articulate problems, and work constructively with others including more senior and junior members in the team to implement the fixes/solutions
- Demonstrate the ability to take initiative and take the lead on implementing new age technologies
- Experience in upgrading the older framework versions to latest version taking care of compatibility issues
- Have a can do attitude that focuses on resolving the overall problem in the medium and long term as well as meeting the short term objectives

Specific Qualifications (if required)
- 5+ year’s work experience as Automation QA
- At least 3 years of hands on automation experience in building and running automation frameworks using Python
