The role
Responsible for assisting with the delivery of the health and safety management strategy for BNPPRE within its Head Office and Regional Offices.
Key deliverables
- Assist with the development of a H&S management strategy aligned to current legislation, industry best practice and the operations of BNPPRE
- Assist with the management and development of the H&S Management System in accordance with, and maintain certification to, ISO 45001 standard and the ethos of continual improvement
- Manage and conduct agreed inspection and audit regimes (including DSE assessments) to ensure the effective delivery of agreed strategy. Oversee the closure of actions arising from these regimes
- Assist with delivery of practical risk management procedures and processes to effectively deliver BNPPRE strategies and KPIs
- Provide guidance and advice on, and demonstrate leadership in, health and safety risk management to BNPPRE staff
- Assist with development and delivery of H&S related communications and attend meetings
- Support with management of the relationships with supply partners involved in H&S management activity in line with agreed SRM processes
- Assist with preparation of management reports for a variety of stakeholders
- Assist with the management and development of the compliance management system
- Assist with managing and investigating incidents in line with agreed policies to identify trends, share learning and implement appropriate remedial actions
- Assist with identification of H&S training requirements and delivery of agreed programmes
- Ensure compliance with all internal procedures and policies – e.g. Procurement, Finance, Compliance, HR

Person specification
Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent
- Holder of NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (or equivalent)
- Holder of NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or working towards (desirable)
- Holder of DSE Assessor qualification (Basic essential, Advanced desirable)
Experience:
- Previous experience within a health and safety management role
- Thorough knowledge of health and safety legislation relating to the built environment generally, but specifically for buildings under management
- Experience and working knowledge of the commercial property sector
- Understanding of facilities management processes and systems
- Understanding of the business potential for health and safety in property management
- Management of supplier relationships at a junior level
- Excellent English language skills – both written and spoken
- IT literate – MS Office at intermediate level
- Familiar with implementation of health and safety systems and processes
