Act as the Department Head and portfolio manager for Investment-Linked Discretionary Managed Accounts(DMA) and mandates.  The Head of DIM shall be familiar with the on-shore market products, group’s internal resources as well as the local investors’ investment appetite and needs.  He/she is responsible to drive the business - analyzing client’s request, design solutions and formulate the investment strategy for the insurance clients.   Proactively liaising with the investment teams and different internal stakeholders to identify and facilitate the use of internal resources and ultimately come up with investment ideas and solutions.   Assist in the investment strategy pitching with the Sales.  Responsible for the day to day portfolio management based on the team’s investment views and client’s specific objectives and constraints.


Setup of the Operating Model:

  • Take the lead in finalizing the operating model for the DIM team
  • Advise on the selection of the tools and / service providers to address the business needs
  • Address the regulatory requirement, the AML, KYC & the other client/ business needs & considered this in defining the team setup & integrate the delivery into the go live
  • Put adequate policies procedure, operating memorandums & the control framework in place based on the need of the business & the guidelines, group requirement.
  • Build the team to deliver the project within the timelines and the budget allocated.
  • Ensure the proper evolution from a project setup to a BAU business to support the day 1 business.  

BAU responsibilities:

  • Be accountable for maintaining and growing the DMA business.
  • Portfolio Management: Responsible for locally-managed Multi Asset accounts, including ensuring these accounts conform to MAQS  investment policy and comply with investment / regulatory guidelines.
  • Support sales and client servicing activities for the Taiwan MAQS and DMA business, including but not limited to conduct final sales pitches, review meetings, and preparation of relevant marketing material.
  • Conduct research and analysis of investment and economic topics, and actively communicating investment ideas / views with high conviction
  • Conduct research and investment recommendation and external funds / ETFs as building blocks used in our Multi Asset accounts.
  • Work closely with Sales and Product Management on product development and proposals.
  • Develop, maintain and enhance a general knowledge of investment theory and its application to portfolio construction
  • Maintain a full understanding of and to comply with all regulatory, legal, corporate and client mandate requirements that impact upon your role.
  • Ensure that such an understanding is incorporated into your investment recommendations


  • Internal: MAQS global team, Compliance, Product Development, Legal, Sales, Marketing, Brand & Comm teams etc
  • External: Clients



  • Degree or equivalent in Finance/Engineering; CFA preferred.
  • At least 10-15 years’ experience in portfolio management, quant research and team management. Relevant DIM experience in AM industry is essential.
  • Developed industry knowledge.
  • Strong client relationship skills. Able to develop a strategic dialogue with clients.
  • Acts in full compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, Company policies and codes of conduct.
  • Shows belief in own ability to deliver success for the business, combined with a personal commitment to the organisation.
  • Builds, maintains and acts on strong relationships with internal and external clients
  • Maintains positive and productive working relationships, promotes collaborative teamwork.

  • Fluency in written and spoken Chinese and English.
