Department Overview:
RISK is globally accountable for the definition of official risk policies, guidelines and procedures, as well as the quantification and monitoring of risks taken by the various business lines, to ensure alignment with risk appetite and policies. At BNP Paribas, a well-developed risk management culture is based on a long-term vision, a committed management, and a strong and independent organization.
Enterprise Risk Architecture (ERA) is a stream within RISK which aims at being a “one stop shop” for issues related to risk data/analysis, models/methodologies, stress-testing, market & counterparty risk systems, and ALMT & Liquidity risk within the Group. Within ERA, the Risk Analytics & Modelling (Risk A&M) department is responsible for risk methodologies and risk systems IT development.
Within Risk A&M, Risk Systems is in charge of providing the bank with a comprehensive capital markets risk IT system used to calculate market and counterparty risk capital figures using advanced method internal models validated by the regulator and to support the needs of users for risk analysis, risk reporting and the credit process. 
The mission of Risk Systems is to provide Senior Management of the Group, of the Operating Divisions, and of RISK with full transparency and dynamic analysis of the risks and clients managed by Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) and Investment Solutions (IS) Business Units, as per the scope detailed below.  
The scope of Risk Systems
 On Market & Liquidity risks: it is Group-wide. Risk Systems comprehensively covers the CIB capital markets activities, ALM Treasury as well as the IS Business Units,
On Counterparty risks: it is Group-wide. Risk Systems covers all counterparty risks arising from derivative and repo transactions, 
Depending on mandates given, Risk Systems also assumes, directly or indirectly, responsibilities on the above risk categories in specific areas of the Retail Business Units.
The main goal of the Risk Analysis and Client Service (RACS) Team is to consistently deliver high quality client services to Risk Systems users by combining industrial operational processes with sound risk knowledge.
The Risk Analysis and Client Service Team is responsible for the technical and functional provision of the risk system to the users on a daily basis. The RACS team is the first point of contact for all end users queries in Risk Systems, so the team provides primary support for all production processes.

Business context

A transversal part of the Group Risk Management Function, the Entreprise Risk Architecture Division (ERA) delivers activities, in order to :
  • foster coherence and consistency across the Group for risk reporting, stress testing and portfolio risk analysis,
  • develop further our risk analytics , modeling, as well as backtesting capabilities.
  • and consolidate our data management approach,
    This stream also leads the activities regarding our independent assessment of the Bank’s balance-sheet liquidity risk management and of the structural interest rate and foreign exchange risk framework.

Department and Business Unit Overview

Within ERA, the Risk Analytics and Modelling Department (RAM) manages activities leading to consistent delivery of global risk policies, methodologies & models, back testing and systems for Market & Counterparty risks. In addition to the IT and Methodology teams (respectively Risk Systems and SIGMA), the Change & Business Management/Resource Planning Team manages the project management activities of the Department, consisting on counterparty or market risk topics.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of customer issues reported and see incidents/problems through to resolution.

  • Research, diagnose, troubleshoot and identify solutions to resolve customer issues

  • Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams

  • Ensure proper recording and closure of all issues

  • Ensure critical incidents are updated with the latest status update and IM process is correctly followed

  • Liaison between IT and external support provider.

  • Communicate status and act as the central communication point.

  • Escalates (Functional/hierarchical) to appropriate level of management on a timely basis to drive incident resolution.

  • Monitor the incidents to ensure that the Service Level Agreements are respected.

  • Ensure the closure of all resolved and end-user confirmed Incident records

  • Liaise with the Problem Management team to identify, track and resolve problems.

  • Automation of manual tasks or analysis.

  • Document knowledge in the form of knowledge base tech notes and articles


Technical Requirements:

  • Proven working experience in application production support.

  • Good hands on experience in Unix/Linux systems and Schell scripting.

  • Good hands on experience in handling complex SQL queries and database concepts.

  • Understanding of all Infrastructure or datacenter activities.

  • Knowledge of Splunk, Geneos, Apache Web server or tomcats is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Java or Python scripting would be an added advantage.

  • Good ITIL understanding.

  • RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) certification is preferred.
