We are looking to recruit a Financial Reporting Assistant Manager into our Fund Accounting team, which is comprised of a number of different functions responsible for Daily Net Asset Value (NAV) Production, periodic oversight controls and statutory financial statements reporting for a range of fund types including UK Open ended Investment Companies, a Property authorised investment fund, Unit Trusts, UK administered Luxembourg SICAVs and life & pension funds.
 
The purpose of this role is to manage the statutory financial reporting service delivery, ensuring all client commitments and regulatory requirements are met, to build a high performing team through an open feedback culture, and to drive continuous improvement and innovation within financial reporting processes.
 
To be successful in this role you will have proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a large team and balance directive and supportive leadership styles.  You will be an effective communicator, able to articulate complex issues effectively to senior management.  You will have established skills in stakeholder management gained in a client management setting, and exceptional organisational skills, including prioritising your workload, strong time management and planning skills.  You’ll be highly computer literate, proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and it would be beneficial if you had Project Management and/or business transformation experience.  A professional accounting qualification is essential, as is post-qualified experience working in the Financial Services sector, and detailed working knowledge of IMA SORP for Authorised Investment Funds.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Operational Excellence, Risk and Control
  • Responsible for ensuring all client KPI’s and service delivery commitments are being met.
  • Responsible for ensuring client and regulatory change is implemented with no detrimental impact to client service delivery.
  • Proactively review team processes to drive continuous improvement and efficiencies whilst also mitigating risks.
  • Ensure all processes are adequately documented within procedures and maintained.
  • Embed a strong risk and control culture within the team and adhere to the risk management framework.
  • Regularly assess risks within the team and ensure controls are working effectively, minimising control failings and corresponding actions.
  • Responsible for ensuring complete, accurate and timely error reporting ensuring preventative actions are suitably implemented.
  • Closure of actions following incidents, audits and reviews.
  • Management of the business continuity plan ensuring familiarisation within the team.
  • Responsibility for team efficiency, productivity and capacity management.
 
Risk-Aware Entrepreneurship
  • Management point of contact for clients, auditors, trustees, custodians and other departments within BNP Paribas Securities Services.
  • Develop internal and external client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Plan and manage client, audit, trustee and regulatory visits.
  • Oversight of team service delivery.
  • Ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented where deadlines and quality standards are at risk.
  • Responsibility for performance and KPI reporting.  
This is a management position with a minimum of 4/5 direct reports, the management responsibilities will predominantly be to oversee day to day team output.
  • Managing a team: during regular 1-2-1s and team meetings.
  • Coach, develop and train staff to maximise performance
  • Conduct interim and annual appraisals.
  • Absence and poor performance management.
  • Manage high performance and provide career support to team members.
  • Ensure adherence to HR policies and guidelines by the team.
  • Adhere to UK management charter
