Department purpose / objectives

The Finance Department exists to act as a business partner providing core financial discipline, innovative solutions & expertise. This support includes:
• Management reporting (including analytical commentary)
• Budgeting & forecasting
• Statutory & regulatory reporting
• Client & product profitability analysis
• New business take on analysis and review

Purpose of the position:

This is a high profile position working closely with the management team of business lines and Client Development. The post holder is responsible for the delivery of financial information and management of the annual budget & forecast process. You will contribute to the financial management of the business lines and functions through review, challenge and ad-hoc work, including the provision of financial analysis and recommendations for any variances to the business plan. The post holder is responsible for the implementation and delivery of the UK MESA Client Profitability reporting agenda and oversight of the Client Profitability Analyst

Key Responsibilities of the role:

• Deliver accurate and timely management financial information to the business line management team & central finance in Paris
• Organise and manage the budget and bi-annual forecasting process
• Contribute to financial management of the business through advise, challenge and support of the Management team on overall business and financial performance
• Provide recommendations for variances in budget/forecasted numbers
• Provide support and analysis to the business, including business change evaluation, client and product profitability.
• Oversee the UK Transfer Pricing process from a Financial Management perspective and manage the UK based Global roles transfer pricing process
• Manage the production and analysis on UK input (including unit costs) for client profitability
• Conduct reviews and evaluations of cost-reduction opportunities
• Mentor and develop Client Profitability analyst
• Design, develop and enhance UK MESA Buying Centre revenue and profitability reporting
• Provide support to the Head of Performance and Change Management and CFO on assigned tasks


Qualifications, Skills and Experience required

Essential:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
• Demonstrable experience of Management accounting and reporting
• Experience in a similar role within Financial Services with a good understanding of Banking P&L
• Experience of budgeting and forecasting
• Demonstrable experience of working with senior stakeholders on a regular basis
• Excellent analytical & modelling skills
• Good excel skills, and Essbase experience preferable
• Strong time management & organisation skills
• Positive mindset with a can-do attitude
• Leads by example
• Highly resilient and self-disciplined

Desirable:


• Previous experience in Banking / Financial industry
• Demonstrable experience of working with senior stakeholders on a regular basis
• Process change management
• Financial Accounting experience
• Strong technical / system skills
