The role

Working closely with the Senior Director for London Residential to further develop a London & South East Residential business. Establish new clients and develop existing relationships to generate maximum fee earning instructions and position the BNPPRE brand as a pivotal influencer and advisor to the Central London market.  Be a recognised leader within the residential market and drive collaboration with other parts of the BNPPRE business and wider bank to leverage maximum opportunity. This individual will become a part of Directros Forum that will drive the business forward together in a united way.

 

Key deliverables

  • Achieve personal financial targets and budget, maximise gross profit and provide accurate monthly forecasts
  • Build profitable relationships with house builders, developers, investors and private clients.  Look for opportunities to engage at all fee earning interface points from land acquisition and sale, through development to units sales working closely with Central London agency colleagues.
  • Undertake business planning activities in line with the company’s aims
  • Ensure delivery of timely and high quality advice and transactions to major clients
  • Provide market advice and updates via meetings and more formal presentations to major and prospective clients
  • Guide research on the outputs that will give the business a leading edge over competitors
  • Take a leading role in the business and commit to measurable annual targets in new business and for cross-selling outside the business line
  • Be a figurehead for the Residential Business in Central London and increase its profile at industry events and in the trade and national press
  • Support Key and Major Account business development activities for Central London clients
  • Grow specialisms and actively sell Residential Consulting capability to clients nationally
  • Develop work by instilling client targeting and business winning disciplines across the business line
  • Oversee delivery to clients ensuring quality of delivery through client feedback
  • Work with the Senior Director and co-Directors to Develop a Central London leadership Group to ensure focus and maximum visibility with internal stakeholders and potential new hires
  • Liaise with other Business Line Heads and Office Heads to promote cross-business initiatives
  • Lead high value, complex, multidisciplinary and strategically important assignments
  • Responsible (sometimes jointly) for successful delivery of all assignments in area of expertise
  • High profile ambassador for BNP Paribas Real Estate in area of expertise
  • Has external recognition and is influential in the market

Responsibilities

Financials

  • Undertake business planning activities in line with the company’s aims
  • Manage fee negotiations, billing and actively manage debtors
  • Bill regularly and collect fees as quickly as possible
  • Accurately forecast fees for the Central London business when required to do so
  • Assist in developing initiatives to improve revenue and profitability

Clients and Business Development

  • Actively manage BNP Paribas Real Estate / S&P clients base to deliver financial goals
  • Maintain and build strategic client relationships
  • Actively sell our Central London Agency capability to clients
  • Be effective in winning new business
  • Develop relationships and grow business from existing and new clients
  • Develop a solid track record of repeat instructions
  • Identify cross selling opportunities and execute them
  • Monitor the pipeline of current and prospective assignments in the London Agency team and action
  • Monitor service to clients via regular reviews and promptly rectify any shortfall in quality
  • Actively participate in our Key Account Management programme and ensure we understand and anticipate client needs
  • Develop a strong network of relationships and proactively sell services across the Group
  • Work with managers/directors outside of the team in the achievement of our company vision and objectives

People

  • Responsible for and manages team(s) of fee earning individuals and support employees
  • Work with the Executive Director in recruiting new staff at intern,graduate and associate director level to grow the specific area of business in line with an agreed business plan
  • Share knowledge with/provides information to colleagues and team
  • Coaching/mentoring of others
  • Contributes expert guidance and leadership to complex assignments in his/her field
  • Integrate and unite teams
  • Ensure a consistent and high quality service from the Central London land and new homes business
  • Instil an ethos of focus on business development throughout the business line and sector, and monitoring this performance

  • For direct reports conduct salary, bonus and performance reviews and support with providing coaching and feedback where required

  • Attend external networking events, keep abreast of market developments and share these regularly with the team and Group as required

  • May be a project lead or contributor to BNP Paribas Real Estate UK projects

Essential experience

  • Significant track record within London residential with a broad cross section of clients
  • Proven fee earner
  • Able to work at a strategic level and maintains a network of senior contacts and decision makers
  • Self starter and can work with little supervision and, where appropriate, under pressure
  • Demonstrable record of delivery in the UK Real Estate market, with a strong transaction background and track record of substantial deals in the market place
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of the entire residential development cycle including off plan overseas marketing and sale of units
  • Previous experience and evidence of enhancing performance through growth and profitability
  • Strong market profile as a new business generator
