Securities Services Chennai Hub

One of the three international operations centers, BNP ParibasGlobal Securities Operations (GSO) provides services to global clients in the Asian region and some “follow-the-sun” activities for European clients. Our services include custody operations, fund accounting, middle office operations, static data management, IRP and other transversal services.

Job summary

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for clients’ New/Cancellation instructions: receiving, checking, manual creation. Informing Spoke on Missing instructions, Cancellation requests and proper documentation.
  • Processing of all instructions in Repair Queue within the agreed timelines
  • Follow-up of trades up until settlement: checking pending trades, trade release, receiving timely updates from CCASS and accurate reporting to client.
  • Ensure Client is well-informed through Spoke when short of securities to cover position.
  • Ensure Risk Management approval is taken well before agreed time for forcing instructions to market, when client short of money.
  • Target 100% pre-matching of trades with counterparty on SD-1
  • Realize the significance of precise Client reporting at all times and adhere to it.
  • To check the Group mailbox and solve any queries received in consultation with Assistant Manager / Manager.
  • Escalate unresolved open issues / high risk items to the Assistant Manager / Manager.
  • Participate in Cross Training and ensure the Knowledge transfer between the team and processes is happening on periodic basis.
  • Share the best practices and ideas with the peer groups and team members.
  • Consistently evaluate and update documented procedures to ensure they are complete, accurate and current.
  • To train the new joiners on a need basis.
  • Maintain good communication with internal peer groups and BNP Paribas counterparts across Asia.
  • Processing Intellimatch everyday.
  • Processing Cash reconciliation
  • Improving Acetp by escalating the encountered issues.
  • EOD process (to ensure no outstanding / pending instructions in queue & swift messages.)

Number of staff supervised: None

Educational qualifications: College Degree, preferably a Master’s degree in Commerce or MBA (Finance)

Total years of experience:  0-2 years

Relevant years of experience: 1-2 years for Associate Level I

Knowledge and skills required

  • organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, prioritizes multiple tasks, and meets strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and strong MS-Word & Excel skills required.
  • To be based in Chennai and prepared to travel as required.
  • Must be prepared to work in any shift supporting Asia/Americas/European business hours.
