Loan Capital Markets (LCM) provides capital structure solutions to the corporate bank client portfolio, with Senior Originators specializing in certain industry sectors. LCM is seeking a team player with excellent communication and analytical skills for the Associate position. Candidate must have a strong work ethic. The LCM Associate is primarily responsible for managing the internal deal process as well as serving in a support capacity for the outbound marketing activity of the Senior LCM Originators across the Americas.
In this role, the LCM Associate must have a demonstrated ability to: maintain a working knowledge of the syndicated loan capital markets and related products; communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms; independently produce debt capacity and corporate acquisition models, power point presentations, written analyses, research, financial statement analysis; identify key credit strengths, risks and mitigants in event-driven transactions; act as point person for credit proposals and deals in market, including responding effectively to questions from Risk as well as other banks and investors; instruct junior team members on the fundamentals of financial accounting and corporate finance including capital structure, and cash flow analysis; guide junior team members in their financial modelling exercises, specifically with respect to analyzing different capital structure scenarios for investment grade credits; and proficiently review and proofread financial models, PowerPoint presentations and other work prepared by junior team members.

- Assist in Senior
Originator’s marketing efforts via pitch preparation and update of market
- Lead credit analysis and credit proposal process, managing junior team members
- Proofing financial models
- Presenting to and coordinating with Risk for credit approvals
- Prepare marketing
materials, presentations and Confidential Information Memorandum
- Develop extensive network of internal BNP Paribas contacts
- Assist in deal execution activities including review of legal documentation
3 plus years of previous work experience at a financial institution, preferably in a similar loan or bond product area
3 plus years of previous similar or complementary work experience at a financial institution
3 plus years knowledge of accounting and finance
- Master’s degree with finance curriculum or MBA preferred
- Ability to think critically and solve problems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Technical skills – advanced Excel and mathematical proficiency
