Securities Services Chennai Hub
One of the three international operations centres, BNP Paribas Global Securities Operations (GSO) provides services to global clients in the Asian region and some “follow-the-sun” activities for European clients. Our services include custody operations, fund accounting, middle office operations, static data management, IRP and other transversal services. GSO currently employs about 650 staff with this number set to rise to about 850 by end of 2013.
Job summary
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
  • Implementing & following the Transition and Change Methodology to develop a best-in-class function for the Chennai Hub in consultation with different business groups within BNP Paribas Group.
  • Plan and execute the transiting of functions from various BP2S locations to Chennai.
  • Working with the Chennai business unit to bed in the transiting process, until it runs as BAU.
  • Work on internal projects within Chennai to develop it into a center of excellence.
  • Responsibilities will include working with various project and operational teams in other BP2S locations as well as Chennai, carrying out Business Analysis, planning Project management, and IT development.
  • Ensuring Governance is strictly adhered to and obtaining buy-in from international locations.
  • Ensuring necessary project documents are signed off and captured for Audit purposes.
  • Participate in Quality initiatives and ensure best practices are followed and implemented.
  • Chair meeting with various stakeholders (internal and external) to update progress on projects.

Take ownership and accountability of the Transitions and Change function in Chennai.

Educational qualifications

Graduation/Post Graduation with specialization in Finance / NCFM Certified




PMP or PRINCE2 certification is strongly preferred



Total years of experience

6 to 8 years



Relevant years of experience:

Minimum 4 to 6 years



Knowledge and skills required

  • Very strong project management skills in transitions and change.
  • Should be capable of managing 3-4 simultaneous projects.
  • Very strong communication and senior stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Solid technical understanding of the Fund Services business is expected, including strong knowledge of financial markets and trading/settlement/custodian/fund services processes.
  • Should have hands on experience in understanding systems and processes.
  • Should have headed up and managed multiple Transition projects in his/her current role and had migrated atleast 4 processes to India.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous process improvement is preferable.
  • Overseas experience preferable.
