Job Description Summary

Responsible for the distribution of Lease transactions within the National Banking Division (NBD), Agribusiness Division (ABD) and other divisions. Actively calling on existing investor base and developing new investor relationships with the objective of determining market clearing structures and pricing for Bank of the West (BOW) originated transactions. Will work closely with Equipment Financing (EFD) colleagues, Syndication structuring team and line units to successfully originate and distribute lease syndicated transactions. Focus will include both Direct and Vendor leasing opportunities and ticket sizes will commonly range from $500K-$75MM.

Essential Job Functions
  • Distribute underwritten and best efforts leas transactions originated by BOW.
  • Responsible for further developing existing investor relationships (banks and other buy-side investors) as well as developing new investors for BOW leasing transactions. Establish and maintain a cooperative relationship with other financial institutions. This will be done both by face to face meetings with investors as well as telephonic/email medium.
  • Participate in the arrangement and preparation of best efforts and underwritten lease transactions; assist in the analysis of market trends, industry status and cycles and credit information. Responsible for knowing the investor availability for leases being distributed by the Bank. In conjunction with EFD and Syndications Structuring, determine market structure and pricing required to successfully sell BOW leases and maximize syndication/administrative fee income.
  • Proactively and successfully work with EFD, Syndications structuring team, line units and the client to receive mandates and successfully close transactions.
  • Responsible for distribution of underwritten and best efforts leasing transactions as well as portfolio sales..
  • Provide timely market color on fundamentals/technical and sentiment to bankers/EFD/Syndications colleagues.
  • Source Leasing opportunities from the market and refer to relevant BOW group, assist with shepherding buy-side opportunities through the credit process.
Other Job Duties
  • Provide support for Loan Distribution, as necessary
  • Interacts with credit administration, servicing, operations, accounting, appraisal, legal and other related Bank personnel working with assets regarding issues of quality, pricing, new business and related trends

Required Experience
  • Requires highest knowledge and mastery of multiple job areas typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • Viewed as the leading expert and/or resource within the field by peers within and outside the organization.
  • Requires 12 years minimum prior relevant experience.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Business & Finance

Skills
  • Previous 7-10 years of syndications activities with a financial institution.
